Games for developing attention - this is serious!

Attention - a specific process of mental activity, consisting in selective focus on an object. Simply put, to be attentive means to be able to concentrate on the right subject.

Attention is involuntary. It is a primitive form that is common to all intelligent beings. An example of such attention is the automatic reaction of evasion in response to a sharp movement. There is no need to develop involuntary attention. Even an infant can easily focus on an object that evokes an emotional response.

It's another thing to teach a child to concentrate on what he does not care about. This form is called arbitrary and is a high degree of attention. There are various ways of developing attention, but all of them, one way or another, are of a game character, which is related to the peculiarity of child psychology. Playing, children learn the world, those around them, themselves.

That is why games on the development of attention are so important , forming the child's skills of transition from involuntary mindfulness to its arbitrary form. Gradually, these types of gaming activities not only develop children's attention, but also help to develop the observation, much needed in the future.

Children of two or three years can play for a long time, but if necessary switch to something else. A child of four or five years, with proper development, can calmly concentrate on two or three not very entertaining phenomena.

The development of attention in pre-school children is especially important for a child of five or six years old, because he has to listen to the teacher at the same time, write down what is needed in the notebook, monitor its location and, with all this, keep his own posture. All children are different: one needs several times to repeat something, seeking answers, others have problems with visualization. Therefore, the selection of the category of games that develop attention is carried out taking into account the individual characteristics of the child.

Games for the development of attention are divided into several types: visual, auditory, motor, depending on which organs are involved the most. Here are a few examples for each category of games:

Games that develop motor attention.

"Let's repeat the movements." At the beginning of the game, a move is specified, which can not be repeated. Then the child copies all the movements of the adult. Except for the prohibited. And when the adult shows it, the child must have time to react.

"Monkeys." The adult adds a structure from different objects. The child should not only copy it, but also parody the adult's movements.

Spotting games to develop attention.

"Circle the picture." Consistently connecting the points indicated by numbers, the child draws a picture.

"What has disappeared?" The child must remember the location of several objects, and then turn away. The adult rearranges or removes one of them. Turning, the child must point to the changes.

Development of auditory attention.

"We stamp-pop". The adult utters phrases and concepts, chaotically alternating right and wrong (snow is yellow, sugar is sweet, trees are thrown off foliage, etc.). On the correct statement the child responds with cotton, on the wrong - stomping.

"On the table, under the table and knocking." The adult gives the command "under the table", and he hides his hands below. "On the table" - puts them. "Knock" - claps on the table. The child repeats, getting used to it. Then the adult confuses the team (for example, says "knock", and he hides his hands). The child must respond to words, not actions.

These and similar games for the development of attention teach the child not only to quickly switch from one activity to another (which is very important in our fast life), but also train his memory and stimulate cognitive activity.
