This has always been the case, from the ships of the Ancient World to modern frigates, aircraft carriers and submarines. Frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" is the representative of a new era in Russian shipbuilding.

Project 22350

The creation of a new generation of ships of the Russian navy is the need of today. The modern frigate combines antisubmarine and artillery characteristics of a warship. It is more universal, fast and multifunctional. On such a ship it is possible to solve the security issues of the country by conducting a military attack on the enemy as being under water and in the air, and on the water, and on land.

In 2003, the project 22350 was laid. "Admiral Kasatonov" is the second frigate, the construction of which was laid in 2009. In February 2006, the construction of the first battleship Admiral Gorshkov was started.

Admiral Kasatonov

Vladimir Afanasievich Kasatonov was born in Peterhof on July 21, 1910. From 1927, he began his service in the navy of the USSR, for his shoulders the Frunze Naval School, the command courses of the detachment of scuba diving, the submarine service in the Baltic district, the command Division. In the Great Patriotic War, Vladimir Afanasyevich served as chief of operational management in the main headquarters of the navy. In 1945, he was awarded the title of Rear Admiral for his services.

The Frigate "Navy Admiral Kasatonov", named in honor of the Hero of the USSR, is the second of a series of patrol ships for the project 22350.

Bookmark frigate

An ancient custom solemnly to mark the laying of the construction of a new vessel assumed the production of a mortgage board with the date of the beginning of construction. Alexander Ushakov, the head of Severnaya Verf, announced that the ship was laid down on 26.11.2009 in St. Petersburg at the Shipyard's North Shipyard under the number 922 under Project 22350. In all respects, this is a completely new kind of warships capable of carrying out multiple combat missions. The first frigate Admiral Gorshkov is already successfully tested on water, and the second one was launched in 2014.

Launching of the second frigate

The frigate "Admiral Kasatonov" was solemnly launched on 12.12.2014. It is not yet equipped with combat installations and radars, but is fully prepared to pass the initial test on water.

Checking the engine room, the maneuverability of the ship takes time. Only after the initial checks of the strength of the court can you carry out the installation of a full ammunition and radar. After that, the next stage of testing begins, checking its combat readiness and maneuverability with full equipment.

After passing these tests, the ship can be transferred to the military navy for combat service.

Prior to project 22350, the Russian fleet did not possess ships of this level. These are guard-type vessels, fully adapted for multifunctional actions, for example, protecting coasts, protecting them, maintaining close and long-range combat, preventing aircraft attacks and "strikes" from under the water.

Rocket installations and other equipment of the frigate fully meet all the requirements of a modern warship.

Northern shipyard

Shipyard "Severnaya Verf" was founded as "Putilov shipyard" in 1912. Over a hundred years of operation of this production, it built and launched more than 400 ships of various classes.

In fact, the construction of ships at the Putilov factory began in 1889, when wooden ellings were built there for the first time to build surface ships of the type of destroyer.

The next stage is the creation of additional shipyards for the construction of mine cruisers, and even later, in 1910, was laid, and in 1911 launched the first destroyer with steam turbines.
