Inverter engine for refrigerator

The phrase "inverter engine" is often heard by those who are going to buy, for example, a washing machine, air conditioner or refrigerator. It is believed that the technology with such a motor - almost the most perfect of all available models to date. But what is an inverter engine in technical installations, not all are bothering to understand themselves. Consider how it works and what are its benefits in the refrigerator.

What is an inverter?

This device is designed to regulate the speed. So, in the case of a refrigerator, if it needs more cold, the inverter motor will increase the necessary revolutions. And when the command "enough" comes from the equipment, then the speed counter stops at the preset level. Previously, the refrigerator had to install as many as three compressors. But now one is enough. After all, the greatest load occurs when the technology is turned on. And if there are several compressors, a higher frequency is required. But one inverter turns on smoothly, without sudden jumps and overloads. That is why energy consumption is saved.

Any driver knows that by setting "on a cold" car, it reduces the life of the engine. The same happens with the compressor. But the inverter engine, smoothly starting, accelerates to thousands of revolutions gradually. Thus, in addition to saving, the equipment does not wear out much longer.

disadvantages

In addition to advantages, technical devices with an inverter, like any other, certainly have drawbacks. The main one is the high cost. Not everyone will decide to fork out for this innovation, besides sometimes not completely trusting its real effectiveness.

Benefits

Continuing the analogy with the car, it's easy to understand that a car that will drive on a flat road without even passing to the maximum speed will reach the finish faster than that which moves along the off-road, but at the limit. The first option seems to be advantageous not only in terms of result, but also in fuel (small capacity "eat" less gasoline), as well as spare parts (in the second case, it may be necessary to replace something at the finish).

The same situation develops with refrigeration equipment. The digital inverter motor has the following advantages:

  • The electric energy is considerably saved;
  • The resource of the motor is substantially increased due to the minimal load, repair in this case will be needed much less often;
  • Noise during operation is also significantly reduced due to low speed;
  • Based on technical characteristics, the manufacturer, as a rule, extends the period of warranty service for the equipment.

There is no limit to perfection

The inverter engine is not the most advanced in household appliances today. Known is the so-called linear aggregate, which can also be attributed to piston. However, there is no engine and crankshaft in it. The piston is in an electric magnetic coil and starts to move when the current arrives. At the same time, the electric energy is required much less, the efficiency increases substantially, and the cooling equipment works even more quietly than with the inverter unit.

For this type of technology, the inverter is useful, since maintaining a constant temperature, not working at the limit, is really an important indicator. In another technique, for example, if an inverter motor is installed in a washing machine, this may not be as significant as for a refrigerator.
