First-aid set: purpose

At any enterprise, there must necessarily be a first-aid kit that allows employees to help with worsening of health, injuries or accidents. The first-aid kit can be stationary and stored in a pendant locker or portable in a waterproof bag (plastic case-suitcase). Regardless of the storage option, the first-aid kit should be properly equipped and consist of medicines of the appropriate shelf life.

Who pays for the first aid kit?

No one has the right to collect money from the company's employees to complete the first-aid kit. The employer must provide the appropriate set of medical devices. And he does it not on a voluntary basis, but guided by the law on labor protection.

Regulatory documents

The Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development has developed several basic documents on the basis of which the first-aid kit is being staffed and applied. The first order was assigned the number 169N. Affirms the necessity and availability of the first-aid kit second order - 477N. Order No. 169N is supplemented with notes. Paragraphs 1-2 state that the employer is not entitled to change the list of drugs independently. First-aid kits are completed with certified medicines. Medicines for which the expiration date has expired is replaced by similar ones. Used funds replenish.

Who can help in emergency cases?

First aid is regulated by art. 31 of Law No. 323-FZ "On the fundamentals of protecting the health of citizens in the Russian Federation". Here it is said that in case of injuries or other situations that threaten the health of the employee, a person who has received some training and who has acquired the necessary skills will provide first aid. These persons include representatives of law enforcement agencies, military, representatives of rescue services, drivers. The management of the enterprise allocates a certain number of employees who are trained (under special programs of the federal level) to the rules for the application of primary means of assistance, which contains the first-aid kit.

It is important to remember that, according to order No. 169H, all manipulations are made in medical gloves. If an infectious disease is suspected, then a medical mask should be used.

First aid kit in the enterprise

The first-aid kit, the composition of which is regulated by Order No. 169H, should include:

• Products that help stop bleeding, dressings;
• Means, allowing to carry out reanimation actions (artificial respiration);
• Syringes, gloves, masks, scissors;
• Isothermal bedspread;
• Drugs to relieve pain and inflammation;
• Heart means;
• Means for withdrawal from syncope;
• A means of poisoning;
• Calming drug;
• antihistamine;
• Antispasmodics;
• Solution of sodium sulfacyl;
• Ascorbic acid and so on.

The first-aid kit must take into account the specifics of the work performed. For example, chemical companies add to the medicine chest preparations for poisoning and chemical burns. For metallurgists and cooks, the means for thermal burns are more relevant. Enterprises associated with high-altitude work, increase the amount of dressing material and add immobilizing tires.

All these subtleties should be taken into account when choosing a first-aid kit, because the safety of the employee and providing him with emergency assistance, if necessary, is an important task.
