Having lost children, Annie falls into depression, the world for her has ceased to exist, the colors have faded, the dream house she painted has become gray and gloomy, full of pain and sorrow. Chris is given to work and attempts to return his beloved wife, to fill her life with a new meaning. Thanks to the tremendous efforts he succeeds. Years pass, the life of the couple begins to improve. But fate is cruel. Annie again remains alone in a world full of despair and emptiness - saving people, Chris perishes. He does not immediately understand what happened, and tries again and again to attract the attention of the spouse, but realizing that he leaves his attempts and goes into the other world. Where can there be a bright and kind soul who, by sacrificing herself, helps others? Of course, in paradise! Paradise Chris is filled with brightest, lively colors. In it is the dream house that Annie once painted, his beloved children, he has a riot of happiness and even a dog that they once loved so much. He meets a friend, Dr. Albert, who becomes his guide, introduces him to others. Thanks to him, Nelson learns the essence of paradise - everyone suits him the way he would like to be, surrounded him with his dreams, with what he loves and always would like to see alongside. At the same time, in the reality that Chris so suddenly left, his beloved Annie suffers from loneliness and depression. Unable to withstand internal tortures, she commits suicide and goes to hell. Chris finds out about what happened from Dr. Albert and decides to go into the world of pain, despair, fear and darkness, to return his beloved. In a short time, he must not only manage to get out of despondency spouse, but also not to fall into his fetters. Annie's condition is so difficult that she does not recognize her husband at once. But the great power of love that lives in Nelson's heart at the last moment will be able to awaken, pull out of despair the desperate soul and bring it into a world where the daughter and son, the world built by their dreams, are waiting with excitement. Time passes, and lovers decide to start all over again. The film ends with a scene of dating a little boy and girl, with some details surprisingly reminiscent of Chris and Annie's acquaintance many, many years ago.
