Facing of the socle: details of work
Under the concept of socle is usually meant the lower belt of the facade, designed to protect it from contamination and damage. It should be made of durable materials, not only decorating the facade, but also capable of serving as a reliable barrier to moisture. Usually the socle reaches the floor level of the first floors. Its height should not be below 20 centimeters, so that it performs its functions correctly. The lining of the socle can be produced in one of a variety of ways. You can consider some of them.
Facing the plinth with a stone tile
This type of finish looks impressive, but it's very expensive. Most often it is made of limestone or sandstone, however, one can also find variants of granite and marble. The size of the tiles can be arbitrary, like their texture. Installation is quite simple. The tile is glued by means of a special adhesive solution for the stone. The use of a different kind of glue sometimes leads to the appearance of cracks and flaking of stone tiles. The lining of the socle must be protected by the eaves (if the first protrudes beyond the wall). Not everything falls off after frosts.
