Error Google Chrome "Class is not registered": the simplest method of correction

Quite often, many users who use Google Chrome browser for Internet surfing experience an unpleasant situation when the system writes "Class is not registered" instead of running the program. Why this happens, and how to fix this kind of malfunction, now and try to find out.

The essence of the error "The class is not registered" (Windows 8)

In general, we note at once: this error is typical mostly for the browser of Google Chrome, and it appeared only in Windows 8 and later versions of "operatsionok."

If suddenly a message appears on the screen when you start the browser that the class is not registered, you can give one explanation. The fact is that the G8 integrates the browser into the system and runs a little differently than it did in previous versions. The program is started not through a shortcut that refers to an executable EXE file, but through a Class ID. Yes Yes! This is the removal of the program. That's just the usual uninstalling by means of Windows turns out to be completely incomplete, because in the system registry there are some unused keys. The same applies to the files on the hard disk in the directory with Program Files or Program Files (x86).

It is better to use utilities such as iObit Uninstaller, which are able to perform deep scanning for residual objects and delete them entirely. But after such a powerful removal, you should find the most recent version of the browser on the Internet (best on the official resource) and install Chrome again.

"Class not registered" error: editing registry entries

But what if the user does not want to lose the bookmarks, for example? It's clear that you do not need to delete the browser. But the message "Class not registered" will appear again and again. As the simplest tool, you can use the export of bookmarks to an HTML file. But you can do something different, although the proposed method is rather complicated. To start, you need to right-click on the browser shortcut and select the properties line from the menu.

Now on the tab tab at the bottom left, click the file location button, then select the most recent version of the browser and go to the directory itself. Now copy the full path from the address bar. It is better to save it in some text document, for example, in a text file created using conventional Notepad.

Next, in the "Run" menu (Win + R), register the regedit command and enter the registry editor. Here we need a search, called either from the main menu, or by a combination of Ctrl + F, or simply the F3 key.

In the search request we register the combination 5C65F4B0-3651-4514-B207-D10CB699B14B, and then we enter this branch. Here we are interested in the subfolder LocalServer32, in which there is a Default key or two (another one is ServerExecutable). Each record should be opened for editing and enter in the corresponding fields that path to the file that was copied earlier. After that, the problem should disappear. By the way, the search can be specified exactly by the name of the folder, if this branch is not found.

Just in case, you can repeat the search. If some keys are found, except for two edited ones, they should also be changed. But in general, as practice shows, it is enough and such simple manipulations.
