EPSON L110: a high-quality entry-level printer with an integrated NNCH system

Inexpensive, but at the same time, the EPSON L110 entry level printer is quite functional. Its capabilities are quite enough to create a small printing factory both at home and in a small office. This is an excellent printer, it will be discussed later.

Segment

The hero of this review is aimed at the segment of budget printing devices. This proves both its price and its technical specifications. But at the same time he has a system of NPCs, it is this important feature that distinguishes him favorably against competing solutions. Due to this engineering solution of the Japanese manufacturer, its products, in terms of costs for consumables, are more economical than anyone else's.

Equipment

The next list in terms of bundling, besides the printer itself, boasts EPSON L110:

  • User's manual.
  • Cable for electricity supply.
  • Warranty card.
  • Disk with the application software (drivers for Windows and MacOS).
  • 4 containers with ink.

The first, which is clearly lacking in the previously listed list, is a USB interface cable, without which it can not be used for its intended purpose. The second important component, which certainly is not enough, is a driver for the operating system of the Linux family. As a result, there may be problems if you connect this printer to a PC with such a system software. In other respects, the above equipment is quite typical and standard.

Printing technology. Colors

Like any other printer of this company, EPSON L110 uses inkjet technology to print output documents. There are only 4 ink tanks in this unit. One of them is black and is used in monochrome printing mode. The other three colors are used when forming a color image, in which case the color list is blue, yellow and magenta.

Interfaces

Just one wired interface is designed to connect to the computer EPSON L110. This is USB version 2.0. Since this interface is unified, without any problems this budget printer can be connected to the ports of "USB" versions 1.0, 1.1 and even 3.0. In the first two cases, the print speed will decrease slightly, and in the latter case, the speed of the port itself will automatically decrease.

The drawbacks in this case include the lack of a Wi-Fi transmitter and a slot for installing memory cards. Of course, such options would make the use of such a printing device more convenient, but in this case it would no longer belong to the entry-level solutions. As a result, Japanese engineers had to sacrifice functionality for the sake of value.

Resolution

At the stated resolution of 5760 x 1440 for sheets of A4 paper, this printer is not inferior even to photo printers. But a drop of 3 picoliters does not allow you to get such a high-quality and detailed image, as with more expensive devices with a point size of 1.5 picolitre. Taking into account the positioning of this printer as a solution of the budget class of the claimed permission is quite enough to obtain very high quality prints.

The paper size. Speed

A4 is the largest size of sheets of paper that EPSON L110 can print on. The responses of the same owners indicate that there is no rigid binding to standard sizes in this case. The length and width of the sheet can be set in the settings of the printer. The minimum density in this case is 64 g / m 2 , and for this reason it is not allowed to print on this printer on "newspaper" paper, the density of which is significantly lower than this value. The maximum density is 300 g / m 2 . The output speed of ordinary A4 sheets in monochrome mode is 27 pages per minute, and in color - 15. If you output on photo paper with dimensions of 15 x 10, then the time of output of one such document will be 69 seconds.

User Reviews

Most users only characterize the positive side of EPSON L110. Reviews highlight its strong points: the presence of CISS, a sufficiently high resolution value and excellent print quality. The disadvantages include a modest bundle (no cord to connect to the PC system unit and drivers for Linux OS). And if the first one is not so critical and buy such an accessory is not so difficult, then with the second one can understand only a well-prepared user.

Price

Now stocks of this budget printer are still being sold. The price for it starts from the mark of 7500 rubles. Given the specifications and the presence in it of an initially NPR system, this is a very, very democratic cost, which really leaves no chance for its direct competing solutions.

Results

An excellent budget printer with integrated HPC system and low cost of one printed page is EPSON L110. In his niche, he rightfully out of competition, and better than him can only be more recent solutions of this Japanese manufacturer, for example L120.
