Entertaining stylistics of the Russian language

Like any language in the world, the Russian language has its own style and develops according to certain laws and rules that have evolved over the centuries. Every living language changes over time, new styles are formed and obsolete, new words appear and old ones are forgotten, their semantic coloring changes.

The style of language implies a set of several functional styles and represents a complex of language features, including vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, which give the speech a certain color. The study of functional styles and features of the use of language means in them is engaged in stylistics.

Stylistics of the Russian language directly depends on the scope of lexical forms, the content and emotional coloring of the utterance, the current situation and the goals of communication. Figuratively speaking, the stylistics makes a cut of the structure of the language: sound - word - its form - word combination - sentence.

Stylistics of the Russian language focuses on the content, depending on which style is formed. Around a certain type of activity arises a sphere of communication, which dictates its specificity and the content of the style.

From the stylistics derive the basic laws and rules of the culture of speech.

Such linguistic sciences as the style of the Russian language and the culture of speech are closely interrelated.

First of all, both sciences are engaged in the study of the functioning of linguistic means, evaluate their qualitative aspect of use in speech. The culture of speech, relying on the laws of functional stylistics, determines the norms of the literary language. From this it follows that the culture of speech implies the unconditional mastery of the language styles and rules of their use, the ability to correctly and logically build the narrative.

As the style and culture of speech investigate the functioning of the language, the stylistic synonyms acquire great importance for them. It is they who realize the "choice principle" important for both sciences and provide almost unlimited possibilities for expression of thought in the necessary stylistic tonality.

Modern style of the Russian language basically contains neutral and commonly used words (linguistic units). They create a background role and are the systematizing beginning for all styles of language. Depending on the context in which this or that language unit is applied , the stylistic coloring of the word can drastically change. Petting words can get an ironic tinge (cute boy), abusive words, on the contrary, become caressing (dear shalopei). Pathy and obsolete words can sound with irony and sarcasm, and neutral in its direct meaning in a figurative sense can express expression.

Stylistics of the Russian language is such that almost every word can act as a stylistic means. This amazing ability of language units greatly enriches the possibilities of the literary Russian language, gives room for fantasy and freedom of expression.
