Ekaterinburg State Theater Institute (EHTI): description, faculties and reviews

They say that to make one actor, it is necessary that the thousand remain in obscurity. And of course, every entrant who comes to enter the theater institute thinks that he is the same nugget. Every year, thousands of people are huddled in a small building at Weiner, 2, dreaming of testing their strength. It is worthwhile to understand what awaits them when they enter the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute (EGTI), and After the termination of this educational institution.

A bit of history

For a long time in the Urals did not seek to open creative universities. According to historical data, even the capital of the region - Yekaterinburg, was originally built as a factory city. EGTI (Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute) began to form at the end of the Second World War. Then it was a school, the institute became a university in 1985.

Vladimir Motyl, Anatoly Solonitsyn , worked with the creative institute . In it, Dmitry Astrakhan and actress Olga Drozdova started their career. The director's faculty was graduated from the great theater figure - Nikolai Kolyada. EGTI produced famous playwrights Oleg Bogayev and Vasily Sigarev.

On whom to go to study?

What is noteworthy, in the Urals, this is the only higher educational theater institution. Often it is put on a par with Moscow and St. Petersburg universities.

Every year talented young people can try to enter the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute. Faculties to be received:

  • Acting;
  • Literary work (poets, prose writers, playwrights);
  • The direction of the theater;
  • Theatrical producers (in the past - theater experts).

To enroll, you need to write an application addressed to the rector, provide originals and copies of the passport and diploma, SNILS, medical insurance policy, USE results, as well as photo 3 * 4 (8 pieces).

In addition, you must prepare for the introductory tests, as well as have patience. As a rule, the majority of applicants fail the creative contest annually.

Everyone dreams of being artists

The least luck is for applicants who dream of becoming great artists. From all over Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Kurgan, Khanty-Mansiysk region, talented young people go to enroll in the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute (EHTI). Reviews show that the result is a unit.

This is not surprising, usually a year the university is ready to accept only 20-30 people on a budgetary basis. Up to 50 people per contract, 20-30 students per correspondence department. The preference of the master is given to young men under 25 years of age. By the way, it's rare for girls to be over 20 years old for full-time studies.

Required for admission is the creative contest of the EHTI. The Ekaterinburg State Theater Institute considers only those applicants who are ready:

  • Tell a poem, a fable, a prose monologue;
  • sing;
  • To dance.

And do it better than hundreds of competitors. However, in this regard, the Ural higher educational institution does not differ from the capital.

For those who do not dream about the stage, but want to try themselves as an actor, the EHTI provides an opportunity to pass the "Hollywood program". That is, a short training in acting for all comers. In addition, the Institute has preparatory courses.

Who is taken to the directors?

Having a secondary or higher profile education, you can enter the director's faculty at the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute. EGTI, of course, as an exception, accepts graduates of non-creative universities for this specialty. But he is extremely distrustful of young entrants. It is believed that the director can only be a person with a certain life experience.

What the future student should do:

  • Pass a similar actor's creative contest;
  • Put a little sketch;
  • To make an analysis of the classical work;
  • To pass the interview.

At the interview, the potential director shows how deeply he is familiar with the chosen profession.

Faculty of directing the EHTI graduated from the famous playwright and director Nikolai Vladimirovich Kolyada. In Yekaterinburg his famous private theater - "Kolyada-Theater" works. In addition, he tours the Russia and Europe with the theater troupe.

Playwrights and writers

By the way, it is Nikolai Kolyada who conducts classes at the faculty of literary workers. Before him there was no such specialty in the institute. A playwright who wrote more than 100 plays, which is still staged around the world, annually gets 5-10 future writers into his studio. In parallel with him about the same number of students in his studio recruited poet and prose writer Yuri Kazarin.

To get a specialty, you need:

  1. Present creative work (from 24 pages of prose, poetry or drama).
  2. Interview the master.

Even in the student years, such famous playwrights as Vasily Sigarev and Oleg Bogaev received a famous literary prize - "Antibuker". Sigarev's films enjoy the audience's love ("Volchok", "Live", "Country of OZ"). And his wife Yana Troyanova (studied at the EHTI, but did not graduate from high school) is removed in the TV series "Olga" on TNT.

In many theaters in Russia and abroad, plays by Yaroslav Pulinovich, Yekaterina Vasilyeva and Anna Baturina are staged. All of them graduated from the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute. Every year the EHTI is looking for new talents.

Is there work after the EHTI?

During their studies, students can show their creative abilities in the Teaching Theater. However, like most graduates of creative universities, young talents must be prepared for the fact that the work after the diploma will be extremely difficult to find.

Perhaps the most popular theater producers who graduated from the EHTI. The students' opinions differ in this respect. Some are sure that after the institute they are expected in the leading theaters of the capital. Others objectively look at things and are ready to work in private theaters, on children's matinees, weddings and corporate parties.

Nevertheless, many are attracted to the prospect of entering the Yekaterinburg State Theater Institute. EGTI provides its students with the opportunity to live in a comfortable hostel in the center of the Ural capital. And not far from the two educational buildings of the university.

In October this year, the institute was replaced by leadership. The former rector Vladimir Babenko turned 70 years old, and under the current law he was no longer able to hold this post. In place of him came the art critic and culturologist Anna Gluhonyuk. Perhaps the school will begin to change.
