Drainage around the house: types and features

Quite an important part of the arrangement of the countryside is the created drainage around the house. Many people face the problem when the soil contains clay and loam. Such soil is waterlogged during periods of rain, and also when snow melts. This leads to the fact that plants are hard to take root in the site. In winter, the paths are destroyed, because the soil is soothed. On how well the drainage around the house is made, the duration of operation of the building and the time of appearance of the first deformations will depend.

The design of the drainage system should be thought through in the process of creating the site plan. Its appearance is selected in accordance with the composition of the soil and the relief of the site. The drainage system is installed in the following cases: the site is located on a slope and water drains to its surface during precipitation; The territory is shallow and the runoff does not occur; The presence of clay soil, which leads to the formation of puddles during rains; Close to the surface placed groundwater.

The drainage system is divided into three types:

1. Open structure, for which drainage ditches are used.

2. Closed system using special pipes.

3. Backfill drainage with gravel or brick.

In order to extract water from the system, special wells are arranged. There is a significant difference between the types of drainage structures mentioned.

Outdoor drainage

This method is the easiest when deciding to drain around the house. On the perimeter of the site are digging open ditches. Their depth reaches seventy centimeters, and the thickness - half a meter. The walls of the ditch are created at an angle of about thirty degrees. Water flows along a sloped structure into the sewage tank, which is usually created common for several sections. With the help of open drainage, precipitated precipitates and thawed snow are removed from the surface. If the site is located on a slope, such a system successfully copes with the tap of water. Ditches, which are located across the slope, intercept accumulated excess moisture and direct them to the longitudinally arranged drain, thereby extracting them beyond the boundaries of the site.

Closed drainage

Such a system is also called "deep drainage", since a network of special pipes is laid in the ground. With their help, excess moisture in the ground is diverted to a separately placed well. For this, pipes made of polyvinyl chloride are used. Their inner surface is smooth, and the outer surface is corrugated. Through the entire length of the drainage pipe there are holes. To ensure the filtration of soil and sand particles, they are wrapped in coconut fibers or other special materials.

Backfilling drainage

This system resembles a closed one, but the pipes are not used here. Instead, the trench is filled with broken brick or rubble. Its upper part is filled with small elements, such as gravel or small stone. The final layer is made from the soil.

Drainage around the house is able to quickly silt, so you need to monitor it and take appropriate measures. To do this, you need to create an additional layer from the geotextile to ensure filtration.
