DiMedrol. Instructions for use

"Dimedrol", the instruction of which will be presented in this article, is one of the main drugs that block H1-receptors. It is an antihistamine drug that has a local sedative effect, similar to the effect on the body of neuroleptics. In some doses, this drug acts as a sleeping pill.

It should be said that "Diphenhydramine" is used topically, rectally, intravenously or intramuscularly. It can be produced in the form of creams or ointments, drops for the eyes or nose. Usually it is a powder with a bitter taste that dissolves easily in water and alcohol.

The first thing you need to pay attention to is that "Diphenhydramine", however, like all other medicines, must be taken only after the appointment of a doctor, as self-medication can adversely affect your health.

"Diphenhydramine" (tablets) begins to show its effect after fifteen to thirty minutes. It is well absorbed and after one hour reaches the maximum effect, while the duration of its action is four to six hours. This medication is administered orally to adults - fifty milligrams to three times a day, children from two to six years - twenty-five milligrams, children from six to twelve years - fifty milligrams every eight hours. The course of treatment is ten to fifteen days.

Contraindications to the use of this drug are: early childhood, pregnancy, lactation, hypersensitivity, gastric ulcer, glaucoma, bronchial asthma.

Overdose of "Diphenhydramine" can cause the following reactions: redness of the face, CNS excitement, difficulty breathing, dry mouth, children may experience the development of seizures and even death. Therefore, it is necessary to use with caution the "Diphenhydramine", the instruction in this case says that in case of an overdose it is necessary to induce vomiting, rinse the stomach and use activated charcoal, and also control breathing and blood pressure.

With extreme caution, the drug should be used for people who have increased intraocular pressure, hyperthyroidism, heart and vascular disease, and people in old age. In addition, it is not recommended to drink alcohol during the treatment period, since the central nervous system may be depressed.

To date, the following forms of release of the drug are known: one-percent solution in ampoules ("Dimedrol vial"), tablets 0.02-0.05 grams, suppositories 0.005-0.02 grams, gels and pencils.

Interacting with sleeping pills, tranquilizers and alcohol, "Dimedrol" will increase the depression of the central nervous system.

Keep the drug in a well closed container to prevent moisture and light from entering, keep the candles in a cool, dry place.
