Different discharge in children

Excretions in children occur frequently and are observed in both sexes. Girls have more frequent discharge, this is due to the anatomical structure of their urogenital system. In the first days of the girl's life, you can notice small discharge from the vagina caused by the hormonal imbalance that occurs in the child's body after the disruption of communication with the mother (when the mother's hormones are still "raging" in the child's body). This phenomenon is temporary, which poses no danger.

Allocations in girls of 6 years are often due to vaginosis, which is characterized by inflammation of the mucous membrane of the vagina. The most common cause of the disease is pathological activation of the local microflora due to a decrease in immunity. Inflammation often occurs due to hypothermia, especially when the girls are for a long time in wet clothing or forced to sit on a cold surface. In children with a good immune system, such infections quickly pass, sometimes even on their own. The disease can manifest as scarce or abundant secretions.

The reason for the abundant and thick secretions from the vagina can also be a serious and dangerous infection, which requires treatment with a specialist. A small inflammatory process most often goes on independently for several days, but the child should be shown to the doctor in order to find out all the reasons and prevent possible complications.

Yellow discharge in girls (especially with a trace of blood) can talk about damage to the mucosa by some object that the baby could put into the vagina. If this happens, then the parents should not scold her and cause her to feel guilty, it is necessary to contact the pediatric gynecologist as soon as possible. Yellow indicates that the inflammation is caused by bacteria. With viral infections or hormonal imbalance, vaginal discharge is abundant, transparent, sometimes white in color.

Allocations in children can be associated with a variety of phenomena, so in boys with hypothermia of the pelvic organs may develop cystitis (in childhood, cystitis is typical for boys and girls). This inflammation of the walls of the bladder, and if not treated adequately, boys appear discharge, usually yellow.

The clinical picture of cystitis in girls is more acute and painful, as they feel more pain and burning sensation when urinating, there are abundant discharge of yellow with an unpleasant odor. Urination becomes rapid and unbearable for the child.

Excretions in children, especially in girls, can appear due to improper care. The fact is that the anal opening is very close to the urethra, moreover, the urethra of the girl is much wider and shorter than that of the boys, which allows the microorganisms (from the intestine) to penetrate it more quickly and initiate an inflammatory process. Therefore it is important to teach each child to wash away after each act of defecation, to prevent infection with E. coli.

Allocations in children can be associated with various fungal infections, especially the vaginal mucosa is conventionally affected by pathogenic microorganisms, such as candida. The source of infection can be parents, since this fungus sometimes lives in the oral cavity, and with a kiss it can be passed on to the child. In addition, candidiasis often appears after treatment with antibiotics and with a general weakening of the body. When candidiasis (thrush) girls have a discharge in the form of curd mass, which are accompanied by severe itching and burning sensation.

Phimosis in boys can also be the cause of excretions from the penis, as with this disease the foreskin is narrowed, which leads to the accumulation of smegma. In the future, an inflammatory process is formed, because of which the head becomes painful, there is pain when urinating. In this case, the secretions can sometimes have a purulent character. Phimosis is treated with antiseptic solutions and anti-inflammatory ointments. If necessary, doctors recommend surgery.

Allocation for children is for a variety of reasons, so parents should not panic, but in time to seek help from a doctor to prevent any complications.
