Diannotic dichorical twins - what is it? The problems of the development of the diaminootic dichoric twins

Diannotic dichorical twins are not uncommon these days. Statistics show: most often this multiple pregnancy occurs in women aged 35 to 39 years. The causes of this fertilization are considered hormonal disorders in the body, including hormonal stimulation in the treatment of female diseases. Such twins are born in 30% of cases of multiple pregnancies. If the frequency of twinning is correlated with the number of single-birth pregnancies, then for every 100 ordinary births, there are 4-5 diaminotic dichoric twins.

What is a diarnotic dichorial twins?

In medicine, four types of twins are distinguished, which arise only in two ways of conception:

  • When two eggs are fertilized simultaneously or at intervals of up to a week, with two different spermatozoa. Each baby is in a separate amniotic sac and has its own placenta. Such a pregnancy is called a diurnotic dichorial twins. Children can have different sex and different appearance.
  • When the egg is divided into two full parts after a certain period of time after fertilization. If the division occurred within 2-3 days, each fetus may have a separate amniotic sac and its own placenta. If the division occurred in a later period, the kids will have a common chorion and amnion. There may be only a common chorion or only an amniotic sac. Such a pregnancy is called monochorial twins (diamagnetical or monoamnotic). Children have the same set of chromosomes and the same appearance and gender.

Dichorional diavennotic double by week

Determine the presence of twins in a hardware way only from the 5th-6th week of pregnancy. To suspect presence of two kids the gynecologist can at survey only from 9-10th week. Only at this time the uterus begins to grow more intensively and does not correspond to the size in time. Pregnancy with twins is most often accompanied by early toxicosis. He proceeds much more heavily than with single-pregnancy, may return at a later date. This pregnancy is more optimal for mom and kids than monochorion. Let us consider how the diemniotic dichorial twins develop by weeks.

First trimester

  • 1-4 weeks are not different from single-pregnancy, the only thing - toxicosis can appear in a week after fertilization.
  • 5-8 weeks : the length of each baby is about 2 cm by the end of the 8th week. Taurus is fully formed. Fingers appeared, but they still have membranes. The umbilical cord has been formed, the placenta is still developing. At mum a toxicosis. This is the most dangerous period for miscarriage.
  • 9-12 weeks : the time to do ultrasound. The examination will confirm that the woman has a diaminotic dichoric twins. Babies are given teeth, by the end of the period, sexual organs have been formed. Babies already 6 cm long each and weighing 6-9 g. By the end of the 12th week the probability of miscarriage decreases.

Second trimester

  • 13-16 weeks : the belly of a pregnant woman visually looks at 2 two weeks more than with a single pregnancy, it is already clearly visible. Kids actively move, frown, suck fingers, sleep much, wake up about once an hour.
  • 17-20 weeks : the kids are well pushed legs and pens, they are about 25 cm tall and weighing 300 g. Children already have a full functioning intestine, they write to the amniotic fluid themselves, which are updated several times a day. There may be polyhydramnios.
  • 21-24th weeks : the lungs begin to ripen. A pregnant woman may have a backache and sweat around her legs. Children weigh 600 g. During this period, ultrasound is carried out, it is possible to determine the sex, diagnose the presence or absence of congenital malformations, the dichorial diamiotic twins in the photo are clearly visible.

Third trimester

  • 25-28 weeks : the children accumulate fat, the nervous system, vision and hearing, the vestibular apparatus are formed. At mum the bottom of a uterus rises on 30 sm from a pubis.
  • 29-32 weeks : the kids are about 37 cm tall and weigh 1.3-1.6 kg. During this period, ultrasound is done, which allows you to determine the readiness of children to birth, to detect abnormalities in the chorion and omnion, to predict and plan the course of labor.
  • 33-36 weeks : toddlers weigh about 2 kg, heartbeat they have about 120 beats per minute. The head of one child falls down, the second is most often in the pelvic presentation. By the 36th week a woman can give birth at any time.
  • 37-40 weeks : the children are completely ready to come into the world, in growth and weight they lag behind their single-sided peers. Most often, babies will appear on the 37-38th week. There is a high probability of planned pregnancy maintenance before childbirth. By this time, the weight of the mother increases by 15-17 kg.

Can a woman give birth to twins on her own?

If a woman has a dichoric, diaminotic twins, the birth can proceed both naturally and with the help of a planned caesarean section. Everything depends on the course of pregnancy and related complications. If a pregnant woman has a severe form of late toxicosis, gestosis, severe varicose veins and other aggravating troubles, the probability of a cesarean section is high. Cesarean is performed with transverse or pelvic presentation of both babies. The decision is made by doctors on multiple results of ultrasound and observations over the course of pregnancy. The optimal condition for natural childbirth is the head presentation of both children, it is also permissible for the head presentation of one of them and the foot for the second. In other cases, the probability of cesarean delivery is high.

Twins and ultrasound

If the dichorial diaminootic twins are suspected, the ultrasound picture confirms this fact only from the 5-6-week period. At a later date (32-36 weeks), you can "lose" one child. This is because one kid with ultrasound overlaps the second and the latter becomes invisible to the device. Pregnancy with twins requires more frequent ultrasound examinations in connection with the risk of developing pathologies and complications in toddlers. The survey allows you to establish:

  • Type of zygote of twins;
  • Viability of children;
  • Future tactics of labor management;
  • Pronounced pathologies of children or one of them;
  • Presence of polyhydramnios or lack of hydration in each of them;
  • Biometric parameters, degree of development, maturity of pregnancy;
  • The fading of one of the fruits at any time makes it possible to keep the second child under favorable conditions, the probability of developing pathologies and vices in a live baby is no more than 10%.

Dangers lying in wait for twins

Dichorial diaminootic twins develop more favorably than monozygotic twins. This is due to the fact that the children have separate amniotic sacs and placentas, they do not depend on each other. Nevertheless, such babies are also in danger. One of them is the fading of one of the fruits. Experiencing on this occasion should not. If fading occurred in the second trimester and later, the dead fetus mummified, which is not dangerous for the mother and the second child. The second danger is the probability of the appearance of polyhydramnios due to the fact that through the shunt between the placentas the blood is discharged to one of the babies more, because of what the baby often pisses, and gradually forms a polyhydramnios. In this regard, children can vary in weight. Beginning with the 32nd week, babies begin to lag behind in growth and weight. For children this is not dangerous, this fact does not affect the mental and physical development. The lag is due to the fact that there is little space left in the uterus. After birth, babies will quickly catch up on the weight and growth of their peers.
