Decorative panels - "highlight" of the interior

Practically in any style of the interior you can "fit" decorative panels. There are they from stones, natural compound, plaster or other materials. But, in any case, they become practically the most important element of the decor in the room and, sometimes, radically transform its appearance.

Decorative panels in the interior can look completely inseparable from the wall (if, for example, the entire surface of one of the walls is treated with special plaster, and only in some places "blossom" wonderful patterns or lined up interesting figures). The effect in this case is simply amazing!

Even before the "upgrade" of the walls will be done, it is necessary to take into account some of the nuances. So, it should be noted that the decorative panels most expressively will look where there are no other interior decorations. This means that the wall must not be overloaded with extraneous elements unambiguously, in order to give an opportunity to emphasize the originality and individuality of the panel. It can be placed in the now fashionable wall niches. In this case, the highlighting will be actual, also possible now, which will optimally emphasize the volume of the picture. And you can even decorate columns and ledges in the walls in this way!

How to choose a panel style? The set of subjects, in fact, can be limited only by your imagination. You can recreate on the walls of Indian or Egyptian motifs, oriental ornaments, ethnic or classical drawings, as well as modern minimalistic graphics.

Decorative panels are stencilled, stucco and relief (use of textured materials). Sometimes make a combination of these options. With the right approach, these are real masterpieces of design that make guests froze in admiration!

A little about the types of this decor element:

  • Panels made of stone are very diverse: miniature and gigantic, unusual shapes and geometrically regular, flat and bulky, as well as all possible in color. At the same time, they are without a doubt durable and reliable.
  • Widespread decorative panels from special plaster. They can be both colorful and monotonous. They are divided into panels with figured and simple sections. The consistency and the method of applying decorative structural plasters enable to create both voluminous and barely noticeably rough coatings.
  • Models today and a panel of polyurethane. They are very easy to mount, tint and color. To achieve their harmony with other elements of the decor, the samples are given a shade of bronze, silver or gold, ivory, and also color in the colors characteristic of natural stones. Often create the original effects of aging (craquelure).

Even in the modern world, the handmade is very much appreciated. Doing the decorative panels with their own hands, however, is not too simple. It is very difficult to "fit" a new detail into the interior, without being a professional in this matter. It is important to draw a sketch, think through the concept, pick up materials and deal with the techniques of creation.

If you really want to create a masterpiece of decorating art, you can try your hand at simple options:

  • Panel of paper: soak pre-crumpled paper in tea or coffee, dry, paste on a plywood sheet, open with varnish.
  • Panel of fabric: cover the substrate with a frame, from above optionally attach pieces of various fabrics, then attach flowers (artificial or dried flowers). Then to open all this magnificence with a varnish (it is better transparent).
