'Decaris' preparation: instructions for use

The drug "Decaris" instructions for use refers to a group of drugs characterized by a pronounced anthelmintic effect, that is, possessing the ability to destroy worms and worms parasitizing the human body. Children from 10 years and to achieve 14 - from one and a half to two tablets (50 mg each) once.

Children from 6 to 10 years (with a total body weight not exceeding 30 kg) are prescribed a single intake of 1-1.5 tablets.

At the age of 3-6 years the maximum permissible dose of the drug is 1 tablet. But depending on the total weight of the child is assigned from half a tablet to the whole.

Adults take a single 150 mg of the drug, that is, 3 tablets of 50 mg or one 150 milligram each.

The drug should be taken in the evening, after dinner, washed down with a small amount of water (without gas). There is no need to simultaneously observe a specific diet. Also, no simultaneous intake of laxatives is indicated. The next dose of the drug is acceptable only after 7-14 days if there are medical indications.

The medicine "Decaris", despite its good general tolerability, has a number of contraindications. They primarily include children's age (up to three years) and agranulocytosis, due to the use of medications. With regard to the appointment of the drug during the period of pregnancy, it is permissible only if the predicted benefit to the mother will exceed the risk for fetal development. During lactation, the administration of the drug should be accompanied by an interruption in breastfeeding. Patients with kidney disease or with severe hepatic insufficiency should take the drug "Decaris" under the supervision of the treating doctor.

With caution to use the drug "Decaris" instruction for use advises in those cases when concurrently taking the lipophilic drugs, as well as funds that have a pronounced effect on the processes of hematopoiesis. On the day of taking this medication and on the following day, you should not drink any alcoholic beverages. Since the drug can cause a slight dizziness, when working with devices, as well as when driving a car, this factor must be taken into account.

Side-effects that occur after taking the drug "Decaris" can be as follows:

  • insomnia;
  • tremor;
  • headache;
  • Convulsions;
  • nausea;
  • After the expiry of fourteen or more days after taking the drug, the appearance of symptoms characteristic of encephalopathy may occur;
  • Allergic reactions, expressed mainly in rashes on the skin or hives.
