Vitamins 'Pikovit': composition, indications and contraindications

Our body constantly needs an influx of vitamins. We usually regard them as vegetables and fruits, but the amount of useful substances contained in them is not always enough. This forces us to take multivitamin complexes such as the "Pikovit" vitamins. They contain a complex of vitamins and minerals that our body needs.

Composition

So, what specifically contains a multivitamin complex "Pikovit"? Its composition is diverse. It contains vitamins and minerals that normalize the most diverse functions of the body. So, vitamin A has a positive effect on our skin, mucous membranes, visual organs. D3 supports the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. If there is a lack of calcium in bone tissue , osteoporosis may develop. Also in the composition of the vitamin "Pikovit" includes elements of groups B and C. Thanks to vitamin B2 in the body, tissue regeneration processes normally occur, B6 strengthens bones, teeth and gums, B12 provides normal functioning of the nervous system. Also, due to B group vitamins , various enzymes are formed in the body that regulate metabolism. As for vitamin C, it makes our body more resistant to infections, helps reduce inflammatory reactions.

In addition to the above, in the preparation of vitamins "Pikovit" also includes calcium (Ca2 +), phosphorus and folic acid. Calcium takes part in such processes as the formation of bone tissue, blood clotting, the transmission of nerve impulses, the work of the heart, the contraction of smooth and skeletal muscles. Also, calcium contributes to the absorption of iron. Phosphorus, along with calcium, is involved in the formation of bones and teeth, as well as in energy metabolism. With the help of folic acid, the formation of erythrocytes in the body is stimulated.

Indication and use

The multivitamin complex vitamins "Pikovit" is used as a preventive medicinal product in cases when the organism needs more vitamins. The drug is prescribed to children at school age in case of overwork, recommend with increased neuropsychic and physical stress, inadequate diet, decrease in appetite. Also, "Pikovit" can be used as a vitamin dietary supplement.

The preparation is available in the form of lozenges and syrup. Children under 4 years of age, "Pikovit" is not recommended, in this age group it is difficult to apply. To prevent hypovitaminosis, children from 4 to 6 years are given one tablet twice a day, 7 to 14 years, one tablet 2-3 times a day. In the case of treatment, these doses increase to four and five tablets per day, respectively. The duration of the drug is determined by the doctor. Syrup can also be given to younger children: 1 to 3 teaspoons (5 ml) are sufficient for a child of 1 to 3 years 2 times a day. Children from 4 to 6 years can take this dose up to 3 times. The same applies to the age group 7-14 years. The syrup can also be mixed with tea, fruit puree or juice. The exact dosage should appoint a doctor.

Contraindications

Contraindication may be an individual intolerance to one of those components that make up the drug. Also, "Pikovit" is not recommended for hypervitaminosis, hypersensitivity and especially for diabetes (5 ml of baby syrup contains 3 g of sugar). When breastfeeding and pregnancy, the drug should be taken only as directed by the doctor.

Possible side effects when using the drug vitamins "Pikovit". Reviews and research results suggest that such effects may be allergic reactions. As for interaction with other drugs, "Pikovit" is not advised to take with other medicines containing vitamins, as well as sulfonamides (their side effects are enhanced). At simultaneous admission with a preparation of thiazide diuretics hypercalcemia can develop.
