Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are military formations that ensure the protection of the state and its citizens within the country. Signed B.N. Yeltsin ordered the establishment of the holiday on nineteenth of March 1996. Since that time, the Day of Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is celebrated on March 27.

On this date, 1919, the Criminal Investigation Department of the RSFSR established the Office of Forensic Expertise. At that time the unit was called Centrorozysk.

However, the original institution of this kind dates back to the time of Tsarist Russia, on the 31st of December 1803. Then the Medical Council was opened at the Ministry of Internal Affairs department.

Forensic experts
