Many of us have tried Caesar salad in cafes and restaurants. A simple dish, consisting of several ingredients, is half due to its stunningly delicious filling. All because the classic recipe for Caesar sauce contains in itself a dozen ingredients, the combination of which gives it a unique taste. Recreating the recipe itself at home is quite difficult. Not every of us in the refrigerator has, for example, Worcestershire sauce, anchovies and Dijon mustard, but these ingredients can be purchased today in large supermarkets.

The classic recipe for Caesar sauce

For him you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 raw egg yolk;
  • 4 anchovies are small dried fish;
  • A pair of cloves of garlic;
  • A teaspoon of table salt and as much ground black pepper;
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce;
  • 150 ml of quality olive oil, best of all Extra Virgin;
  • A tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese.

First, in a deep bowl, beat whisk egg yolk, salt and mustard. Then add a little olive oil to them. You should eventually get a mixture with the consistency of mayonnaise. After that, add to the mass lemon juice, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and powdered anchovies. And at the very end, pour grated cheese "Parmesan". The classic recipe for Caesar sauce, although it requires, as we have already mentioned, quite unusual ingredients for us, but they make it so delicious and unusual. Any vegetable salad, and not just Caesar itself with chicken or seafood, will be tasty if you generously pour it with such a dressing.

How to make sauce "Caesar" easier: a recipe with a photo

If you do not have a mustard or Worcestershire sauce at hand, then the salad dressing can be cooked without them, it will be just as delicious. Take:

  • A quarter of a glass of mayonnaise;
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice;
  • 3 cloves of garlic;
  • Grated "Parmesan" - a third of the glass;
  • A couple of dried anchovies;
  • Half a glass of olive oil;
  • Black pepper and salt.

Squeeze the garlic, combine it with mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and black pepper, and chopped anchovies. For mixing, you can use a blender, mixer or just whisk everything in a bowl until smooth. When ready, pour olive oil into the sauce in small portions. Cheese can be added at the end, or simply sprinkled with a salad on top. Of course, chefs in restaurants use the classic recipe for Caesar sauce for filling the same salad, but if you take the above method of preparation as a basis, your dish will not be affected at all and will be just as tasty. It is suitable as a dish of chicken - it's a classic option, and to the option with shrimp or with smoked red fish. Now that you know how to make Caesar sauce, the classic recipe for cooking it and the simpler version, you can pamper yourself and your family with a light and tasty restaurant salad.
