Competition - this is one of the main laws of life

A person is involved in competitive activities literally from birth. Initially, participation in this process is unconscious. Parents want their child to develop faster than peers, it was smarter, smarter, more gifted. Therefore, constantly compare the baby with others. Then in the growing up child there is an independent desire to become better in something better than others.

Competition: a general concept

Competition is a process of struggle that takes place between several parties. For example, between an individual and certain phenomena, between people or their groups. At the same time, comparison of human activity with some approved standards is performed. An orientation can serve another personality, the existing ideal or the actions of the same person in the past.

A comparison is made by that individual who is in the know of the criteria of competition, capable of adequately performing the evaluation. The struggle differs by the composition of the objects participating in it, their number, duration, rules, motives of the parties. In this process, the physical qualities of a person, their capabilities, as well as the level of attention, memory, intelligence and other abilities can be demonstrated.

Types of competitions

Competition - a phenomenon that inherent specific conditions, the presence of many facets and characteristic properties. It deals with different aspects of people's activities. Thus, the following types of confrontation are distinguished:

  • Sports;
  • Research;
  • Training;
  • Labor;
  • Game;
  • Artistic.

Each of them is original and individual, is included in the relevant area of culture, directed to perform certain functions.

Sports competition

Sports competition is a broad term. It includes several items:

  • Struggle between sportsmen;
  • Organization of competitive activities;
  • Behavior of participants;
  • Relations between sports fans;
  • Participation of interested individuals.

Sometimes in practice the concept of "competition" is confused with "competition". However, it should be remembered that the second word has a narrow meaning, it is only a special case of a general definition. Sports opposition can be considered official if it meets a number of criteria:

  • Is available in the official calendar, approved by the relevant organizations;
  • Passes according to the regulations;
  • Does not contradict the rules set forth in the regulatory documentation.

The struggle is one-stage or consisting of many stages. The second option is usually carried out on the scale of the country, several states or the whole world. The results of the competitions affect the athlete's rating, his qualifications and prestige.

Kinds of sports

Each confrontation has its own organizational forms, compositions, tasks, goals, requirements. According to the parameters, you can divide, for example, competitions in gymnastics for certain groups.

First, control contests are allocated. They are designed to assess the degree of training of the athlete, the level of his training, tactical and technical perfection. Activities identify the strengths and weaknesses of participants, their physical data.

Secondly, there are preparatory competitions. They check the adaptation of athletes to specific rules of the fight. At the same time, various possible situations are worked out, tactical decisions are tested in practice, useful experience is acquired.

Thirdly, competitions are selective. Here, the selection of the best participants, who consider sports to be the main business of their lives, is carried out. The competitions are designed to complete the teams for further stages.

Fourth, there are the supplying events. This stage is as close to real struggle as possible. At the same time, athletes develop a model of behavior, assessing possible rivals and their strengths.

Fifth, the main competitions. In them, the participants try to show the highest results of the competitions, they are guided by the victory or occupation of prize places, mobilizing all available opportunities.

Each of the species is important, requires full return from athletes, regular training and willpower. Only then can we expect positive results.

Thus, competition is the activity of the parties, aimed at comparing any abilities in accordance with existing standards. His goal is to achieve excellence. The struggle is present in various spheres of life, including in sports. Here, competitions are not just a contest of participants, but a set of events, organizational issues and relationships between athletes.
