Cointreau Liqueur

Liqueur "Cointreau" - an exquisite French drink, which is characterized by a unique range of taste sensations. The ingredients of the liqueur are harmoniously combined. Sweet oranges contrast the bitter, creating an original, not at all like the taste: first soft, and then explosive and sharp, turning into a tasteful cocktail of orange notes.

But this drink is unique not only in taste, its color is no less amazing: from crystal transparency in its pure form to cloudy opal whiteness when combined with ice. When the ice completely dissolves, the ideal transparency returns. Such wonderful metamorphoses are explained by the fact that there are a lot of natural essential oils in the drink that give it a special fresh taste and delicate aroma.

Cointreau is a vintage liqueur, which has been produced for almost a century and a half. Currently, the right to produce it belongs to the company Rémy Cointreau. The strength of the drink is 40 degrees. The liqueur's recipe was created by Eduard Cointreau on the basis of a family, old-fashioned. The history of creation began in 1849, when Adolphe and Eduard-Jean Cointreau began the production of alcoholic beverages at a family distillery.

The first bottle of "Cointreau" in its usual form was released in 1875. Two years later he won his first prize, after which there were many more awards. In 2008 he received double gold at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition.

Initially, oranges for production were brought from the Antilles, and the bottles were square. In 1885 the brothers received a patent for the name and appearance of the liquor, protecting it from possible fakes. To add a fresh taste to the drink, Edward began to supply a family plant with a bitter oranges from the island of Curacao. It was these oranges that became the basis of the new liquor, which also included citrus from Spain and Brazil. Today, Cointreau Liqueur is one of the most popular, it is sold in about 100 countries and is widely used in the restaurant business as an exquisite ingredient in various cocktails.

For its manufacture, the plant began to supply on a regular basis a zest of bitter oranges from the Antilles and sweet - from Spain, Brazil, the southern provinces of France. Within a few days, the peel is insisted on alcohol, the infusion is distilled twice in copper distillation plants, and then spring water with sugar syrup is added to it. Only a strict observance of the proportions is able to ensure the creation of exactly those taste tones for which the drink is valued.

They get a "Cointreau" liqueur from purified brandy, tart oranges, orange juice, which , as a result of mixing, produce an exquisite, soft taste with a bright aroma. Due to this variety of flavors, liqueur is very successfully included in sauces and desserts.

Cointreau liquor is drunk both in its pure form and in various mixes (cocktails White Lady, Margarita, B-52, Serdtseed and others).
