Coast Guard - a guarantee of the safety of territorial waters

The Coast Guard is the only state military unit that is designed not only to ensure the security of the territorial waters of this state, but also to assist those vessels that are in distress. Also, their duties include combating smugglers, terrorists and poachers, protecting fishing vessels. The Coast Guard even deals with weather forecasting in the sea areas of its state. This service was created gradually, mainly in the territories with access to the sea.

Coast Guard Function

Earlier, in Soviet times, the function of the Coast Guard was to let no one in and let the USSR go abroad. Now it is the protection of the interests of its power on the water frontier territories, as well as the provision of fishing activities within the laws of the given country. The Coast Guard must protect the national interests of its state. It includes sentry and patrol vessels (ships and small boats) whose duties are to carry out service not only at sea, but also on rivers, lakes and other water bodies. Now, the capabilities of the Coast Guard are modernized, and even observations from outer space are practiced.

Coast Guard FSB

The Coast Guard of Russia was formed to ensure the security of the national interests of its country, to protect the state border. It is subordinate to the BCPR of the FSB of Russia (Coast Guard of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation) to the Coast Guard Department. The current commander is Admiral Alekseev Yuri Stanislavovich. In its composition only modern ships - border ships and boats. In addition, the employees have relatively small water vehicles: patrol ships, small boats and even motor boats (there are more than 500 units). In addition to vessels that directly serve, there are still those in reserve, or those that are currently in need of repair. People who serve in the Coast Guard are constantly trained, as the ships are constantly being improved, and the laws are changing. Employees do not need to have a military education. Ecologists, lawyers, doctors, and many other specialists are needed here. They will help in the realization of cargo transportation and legal movement of people across the border.

Naval reconnaissance in the Coast Guard

Marine intelligence is also of great importance in the Coast Guard, since it is one of the most important types of combat support for the necessary information. Intelligence is necessary in order to prevent illegal importation of narcotic drugs and weapons into Russia, to maintain continuous control over the fishing process (combating poaching). In addition, employees are able to patrol the territory entrusted to them for a long time, while remaining undetected. The task of naval intelligence is not only search and surveillance, but also an ambush and a raid. Thus, the Russian coast guard is one of the most important military units that ensure the security of their country.
