Classes of buses for the most comfortable trips

Planning a trip or just a trip, everyone tries to find the most suitable mode of transport for themselves, to spend time on the road as comfortable as possible. To date, modern buses have become so convenient that they can bravely compete with any type of transport.

For each category of tourist vehicles, the International Road Transport Union has developed certain requirements. Categories define classes of buses and are designated by stars, in number from one to five.

Buses can be classified by the number of floors, type of fuel used and by category.

Number of floors

Motor vehicles are divided by the number of floors on:

  • Single-storey;
  • One-and-a-half storey;
  • Two-storey.

A lot of travel companies prefer one and a half-story buses.

This type of transport has a good overview, since the interior is located above the driver's seat, and the lower compartment is used for passenger luggage. Two-tier buses are popular for their functionality.

Basically, they are used to transport people for relatively short distances, for example, on excursions. The lower floor of this transport can be equipped for a buffet, a games room or equipped with sleeping places for tourists.

In some European countries they are used as one of the types of city-class buses. But because of the large size, they are quite impractical, because in some cities you may need to look for detours because of low bridges.

Fuel

Most buses for passengers use gasoline, methane or diesel fuel. Also, recently, vehicles such as electric buses and electric cars are starting to gain popularity, which operate on electric batteries and do not pollute the environment.

Classification of buses by category

The comfort of buses is determined by categories and is indicated by an asterisk (*). The higher the comfort, the more stars:

  • Medium-class buses with one star belong to the first category and can be used for excursions around the city or in the suburbs.
  • Buses of the second category (two stars) can be used for international tourism, but for short distances.
  • The third and fourth category are considered the highest class of buses.
  • A category number five corresponds to the class of luxury.

A bus with more than three stars can carry passengers for long distances.

Class requirements

The classes of buses for comfort are determined by the following parameters:

  1. Landing place. This takes into account the space between the seats (from 68 to 90 cm), the height of the back of the chair (from 52 to 68 cm) and its angle of inclination, seat upholstery (quality and appearance), the presence of individual armrests.
  2. Climate control. Is there a blower with individual regulation or air conditioning.
  3. Method of heating (from the engine or with automatic temperature control).
  4. Window. Tinted in them glass or curtains, whether there is an antifog coating.
  5. Individually adjustable lighting.
  6. The presence of a microphone and loudspeaker (the latter can be designed for 4-8 seats or one in the cabin).
  7. The presence of the luggage compartment, as well as shelves for hand luggage.
  8. Sanitary equipment (bathrooms, washbasins, dust collectors).
  9. Equipment in the bus: a beaker for drinks, a refrigerator, individual cup holders and folding tables, a TV and a radio.
  10. Personal place for the guide (equipped with everything necessary).
  11. The presence of electrical outlets near each seat.

Luxury buses

Luxury buses are most comfortable and correspond to the category "5 stars". In such tourist-class buses there must be additional means of comfort. These include: dispenser hot and soft drinks, microwave oven, wardrobe, oven for cooked dishes, kitchen with grill, armchair, equipped with a special back, which corrects and supports the waist.

In the salon, an information screen is installed that displays information necessary for passengers, for example the name of the locality to which the transport is approaching, the distance and travel time, air temperature, etc. In such classes of buses, the noise level should be as low as possible (7,476 DB).

Regardless of how many asterisks have a bus, they all need to be safe. Owners of these vehicles are personally responsible for the life and health of passengers on the road, therefore, they are obliged to monitor the technical condition of the transport - in time to carry out a technical inspection and carry out repairs.
