Bus MAZ 103, 105, 107, 256: specifications of the models

Passenger transportation both on city routes, and between settlements is a demanded and very profitable type of services. However, the requirements put forward for passenger transport, oblige the owners of companies to periodically update the rolling stock of their enterprises. This is due to the fact that day by day there are new criteria directly related to the safety and comfort of passengers. The purchase of expensive foreign buses is not affordable for every enterprise, and the exploitation of old vehicles inevitably leads to the deprivation of the license. The way out of this situation is the search for cars from domestic manufacturers.

Modern and safe bus. MAZ is an alternative to overseas manufacturers

Surely everyone remembers the time when on the roads of cities and suburbs old LiAZ, LAZ and Ikarus were cruising, carrying out passenger transportation in various directions. However, they are not only morally obsolete, but absolutely do not meet modern requirements for safety and comfort, which means that the car park needs to be updated. MAZ buses are an alternative way out of the situation.

Thanks to modern developments, the designers of the Minsk Automobile Plant have created a number of MAZ buses, which are in great demand nowadays due to their modern design, comfort level and compliance with all passenger safety requirements. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the once-distinguished manufacturer of the automobile industry was going through very difficult times. Along with this, there was a need for a complete renovation of the fleet that provided passenger transportation services. And in 1996 the first MAZ bus came off the assembly line, which became a replacement for a long time morally and technically obsolete "Ikarus".

The first model, although it met all the requirements, was far from ideal and gradually improved over time. Along with it, new variants were developed, which, thanks to their quality, gained trust and became widespread both at home and in the post-Soviet expanses.

Bus MAZ-103 for urban passenger transportation

Its overall dimensions are:

  • The length is 11.985 m.
  • Width 2.5 m.
  • The height is 2.838 m.

The salon is equipped with three doors with a width of 1.2 m, and with the number of seats that varies from 21 to 28, can accommodate 70 - 110 passengers. The height of the cabin is 2.37 m, which makes the ride comfortable even for people whose growth is more than 190 cm and the width of the aisle between the seats is 73 cm. The heating is liquid and completely independent of the power unit of the bus. It is realized due to 30 kW of engine heating system. It also makes it easier to start the engine while operating the vehicle in low ambient temperatures. The driver's cabin is heated by a separate air heating system, the power of which is 2-2.2 kW.

The line of power units, which are installed on buses, consists of three engines. This Mercedes-Benz OM 906LA and DEUTZ BF6M.1013ЕС are four-cylinder in-line diesel power units of foreign manufacture that work in combination with automatic transmissions ZF and Voith Diwa. And also the domestic diesel engine MMZ D-260.5, which is installed in tandem with a mechanical five-speed gearbox Praga 5PS 114.57.

Excellent transport for urban and suburban flights

Unlike the previous version with a width of 2.5 m and an altitude of 2.838 m bus MAZ-
107 is equipped with a large number of seats, which can vary from 24 to 30, and the total capacity of the cabin now reaches 150 passengers. This is due to the fact that the length of the body has increased and instead of 11.985 is 14.480 m. This model of the bus is equipped exclusively with a four-cylinder diesel power unit Mercedes-Benz OM 906LA. Its working volume is 6.3 liters. The pair is equipped with an automatic transmission, which allows you to develop a maximum speed of up to 78 km / h.

High capacity for urban routes

The MAZ-105 bus is an excellent model of passenger transport of extra-large capacity for urban transport. This bus, thanks to the design features and articulation of the two salons in one piece, reaches almost 18 meters in length and is equipped with 4 doors. Their size is considered standard for vehicles intended for voyages around the city, and is 1.2 m. Like the two models described above, the MAZ-105 bus is low-floor, as indicated by the height of the first step in relation to the ground, which is 34.5 centimeters. This indicator is superfluous proof that all the designs were aimed at the comfort of passengers, and landing in a vehicle will not make it difficult even for people of advanced age or small growth. With such impressive dimensions, only 36 seats are installed in the passenger compartment. A calculated passenger capacity should not exceed 160 people.

The power unit installed on this model is the Mercedes-Benz OM 906LA. In pair with it the automatic transmission works . The maximum permissible speed is 70 km / h.
