Cedar tincture is a rather popular alcoholic product in our country, which is famous for its useful properties. Its value is given to pine nuts, which are a very nutritious natural product. Cedar tincture, the recipe of which spread from Siberia, exists in several variations: on peeled nuts or on nuts with shells. Both kinds are equally useful, but for treatment it is recommended to prepare tincture from unpeeled nuts. Because the shell contains a large number of valuable tannins. While for home use as a drink, the first option is often used, adding mint, sugar, honey and some other components to it.

Cedar tincture on vodka of classical composition contains only super vodka and cedar uncleaned nuts. To make it, you need to take two glasses of nuts, clean them of litter, rinse and put them in a glass bottle. Pour them a liter of vodka and close the lid. Insist the mixture should be at least two weeks, preferably in a cool and dark place. After the bottle with the tincture is removed, filtered and poured into a clean container. Cedar tincture has a pronounced pleasant taiga flavor and a very original taste. Drink the medicine inside for 1 teaspoonful no more than 2 times a day. Siberian healers consider such a daily dose sufficient to obtain the desired effect. But you need to remember that you need to do this regularly, for a long time.

In order to prepare cedar tincture as an alcoholic beverage for domestic use, experienced winemakers add to the classic honey recipe. It is prepared as follows: 400 g or 2 cups of pine nuts with shells rinse with running water, pour completely with boiling water, cover and let stand for 5-7 minutes. Repeat this procedure 2 more times. It is made in order to get rid of the cedar tar, which is present on the surface of the nut and which can spoil the taste of the final product. At the same time, the flavor of the tincture is preserved and does not go away with boiling water. After nuts pour a liter of vodka or 70% medical alcohol and infuse for 14 days. After the expiration date, tincture strain and pour it into the previously prepared honey solution: melted honey to dissolve in 750 ml of warm boiled water and cool. It is important to pour alcohol into the water, and not vice versa. Further strain the obtained tincture and insist for another week.

Ready-made drink should be very saturated, dark-cognac color with pronounced taste of pine needles and cedar. Softening with honey allows to use it as usual alcoholic drinks. It is easy to drink, because it does not become sweet and has no unpleasant alcohol smell.
