Beer "Carlsberg": manufacturer, price, reviews

The beer Carlsberg is represented by the Danish company of the same name. To date, this brand is one of the largest and most successful in the world. The head office of the company is based in Copenhagen, in the Valby area.

History of creation

The brewery was founded in 1847 by a young Danish entrepreneur named Christian Jacobsen. The brand was named after the son of businessman Carl. For a long time beer "Karlsberg" was produced exclusively for residents of the capital, then production was expanded to national scale. The first exports date back to the late 1860s, but foreign parties were severely restricted.

Almost 20 years after the company was founded, the drink has undergone some changes. First of all, it concerned the method of fermentation of the product. Now the Danes did not just get a fermented drink, but completely cultured and refined beer "Carlsberg". The manufacturer always took care of its customers, so it was soon decided to expand the company's ownership at the expense of new laboratories and plants. It is worth noting that the first chemist of the brand for a long time was the Dane Laurits Sørensen. It was he who introduced the hydrogen component of pH into the brewing procedure, which is currently used by all other companies.

However, even before this moment, with the Carlsberg brand, one strange sitautation occurred. In 1882, the son of Jacobsen retired from the family business, preferring to open his own beer line. The new brand was named Ny Carlsberg. It is necessary to pay tribute to the fact that both competitors for two decades have gone toe to toe. In 1902, Karl died, and his sons joined the two brands back.

In 1969, the main competitor of the Danish brewery, Tuborg, decided to absorb the child of Jacobsen. The collapse of the brand did not take long. At the moment, the directorate of Carlsberg owns only the third shares of the company, the rest is in free circulation.

Perfection of technology

Since 1847, the brewery produced an unfiltered drink based on natural leaven. The product completely repeated the Danish traditions, but did not differ in perfection. In 1865, the first chemical laboratory was opened at the plant. It was here that a new method of yeast cultivation with subsequent filtration was developed. Since that moment, the Carlsberg beer has risen several steps up.

The first export was sent to Scotland, and then to Scandinavia and the West Indies. By the mid-1870s, the product was also a leader in Europe. In 1904, architect Thor Bindesbollom created a corporate green label "Carlsberg". Since then, it is considered to be the defining trademark of the brand. Six months later a whole brewing area appeared in Copenhagen. There were not only administrative buildings and bars here, but also huge laboratories with new equipment.

In 1976, the largest and to this day the international center for the research of alcoholic beverages appeared. It was based exactly on the chemical laboratories of Carlsberg. The new millennium was marked for the company by the opening of several large branches all over the world, including in Russia. In 2004, Danish chemists improved the recipe for yeast processing, revolutionizing the very concept of making beer.

Interestingly, at one time the admirers of Carlsberg were such cult figures as Elizabeth II and Winston Churchill himself.

Brand Production

Currently, the export beer "Carlsberg" is produced under such popular trademarks as Tuborg, Baltika and Kronenbourg. In total the product has about 500 names.

The most profitable year for the Danish brand was 2012, when the company earned a little over $ 11 billion on sales. The net profit was $ 1.1 billion. It is necessary to recognize that in recent years there has been a slight decline in the brand's revenues, but this trend is now observed in all known breweries. It is noteworthy that most of all Carlsberg product is in demand in Russia, Azerbaijan, Nepal and Laos, and only then in Denmark and Norway. In terms of turnover, the following countries also appear on the list: Sweden, Cambodia, France, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Switzerland, Malaysia, Germany, Ukraine, Singapore, etc.

Since January 2015, two plants have been closed in Russia: in Chelyabinsk and Krasnoyarsk.

Composition and properties of beer

As it is not strange, any of the products of Carlsberg is distinguished by its high caloric content. Its energy value is about 45 ccal per 100 g. Slightly less calorie content of a nonalcoholic beverage is 42 ccal.

Since the composition includes only pasteurized components and additives, proteins and fats in the beverage are completely absent. In the production of beer used barley malt, purified water and filtered hops. At the same time, the wort extractiveness does not exceed 12%. On average, alcohol levels vary within 5 revolutions. Due to the preliminary processing of yeast, the beer "Karlsberg" gets its exquisite soft taste of hop bitterness and pleasant fresh aroma.

Sponsorship

Since the early 1990s, the brand has been actively involved in the financing of football events. No wonder that in 2004 and 2008 Carlsberg was the main sponsor of the European Championships, and today it is considered one of the main representatives of the Champions League. At the same time, the contract with UEFA was recently extended for several more years.

In addition, the brand is the title sponsor of the club "Copenhagen". Prior to this, since 1992, the inscription and the "Carlsberg" logo have been on the T-shirts of the Liverpool team. From the sporting activities it is still worthwhile to allocate the annual world championships in skiing and golf.

In 1920, the company sponsored the opening of the Copenhagen Institute of Physics. Today the center is engaged in research not only of quantum and atomic innovations, but also of the main alcohol product of the capital, the name of which is Carlsberg beer.

Reviews and Prices

One of the main advantages of the drink is its mild malt taste. It is achieved due to several stages of filtration and pasteurization. Non-alcoholic beer "Carlsberg" has a sweetish aroma, characterized by freshness and purity of hops. Ideal for light meals and snacks.

The main components of alcoholic beverage varieties are hops and barley. These ingredients give beer a touch of refreshing bitterness and a slight pleasant aftertaste. The drink is suitable for meat and fish dishes, as well as for German and Japanese cuisines.

Another plus, which puts forward the leading position beer "Carlsberg" - the price. The cost of the bottle varies from 75 to 95 rubles.
