Facts from an early biography

It is possible with some confidence to say that the fate of this man was predetermined, because Vladimir Bortko was born in a creative family. His father - Vladimir Vladimirovich Bortko - a successful theater director, and his mother - Marina Fedotovna Zakharenko - an actress. The stepfather of the future artist was the famous Soviet playwright Alexander Korneychuk. Despite the fact that he was surrounded by creative relatives, Vladimir Bortko at first did not want to follow in their footsteps and after school went to study at the Kiev Geological Prospecting Technical School.

In 1965, the future director went on to serve in the army, and after demobilization for some time worked as an electrician-technician in the "Voenproekt" in Kiev.

The beginning of the creative path

Having tried himself in the role of a man far from the world of art, Vladimir Bortko began to understand that he was moving in life in the wrong direction. Therefore, in 1969, he decided to become a student of the Kiev State Institute of Theatrical Art named after Ivan Karpovich Karpenko-Kary. He studied under VL Chubasov and RR Efimenko.

In 1974 he received a diploma and got a job at the Alexander Dovzhenko studios as an assistant to the director. The following year, as director Vladimir Bortko, whose filmography today already has more than fifteen works, put his first film called "The Channel".

First works

In 1980, the beginning screenwriter and director already worked on Lenfilm. The first picture he put here was called the "Commission of Inquiry." The picture is rich in the play of such great actors as Irina Miroshnichenko, Oleg Yefremov and Evgeny Lebedev.

The first film work, which brought Vladimir Vladimirovich fame, was "The Blonde is around the corner" with Andrei Mironov and Tatiana Dogileva in the lead roles. The script for the painting was written by Alexander Chervinsky. Also roles in it were played by Evgenia Khanaeva, Elena Solovey, Mark Prudkin.

In 1984, the director created a lyric tape about the little boy Remi, who wandered to different cities with the owner-trainer, until he found his family. The plot of the film is filled with situations in which the character of the boy is tempered. The picture will undoubtedly be useful for viewing both for children and adults, because it helps to understand that there is no hopeless situation, that friendship helps to cope with any life difficulties, and that each person needs support and understanding.

Famous for the whole world Bortko Vladimir, director, screenwriter and producer, was in 1988, after the film adaptation of the story "Dog Heart" by Mikhail Bulgakov. The film received the Grand Prix at the Perugia Film Festival, the Golden Screen in Warsaw, the Grand Prix in Dushanbe, the A. Moskvin Prize, the Prize for Directing and the RSFSR State Prize.
