Bartholinitis: treatment and dynamics of the pathological process

In modern medicine, a disease known as bartholinitis is known, the treatment of which relates primarily to the field of gynecology. This pathology is characterized by the inflammatory process of the large gland of the vestibule, which was called the Bartholin gland. This paired organ is located in the depth at the beginning of the labia majora, and its direct task is to produce a viscous secret that appears directly during sexual intercourse along the excretory ducts of the glands and moisturizes the entrance to the vagina. However, when the disease worsens, the dynamics of this process is significantly impaired.

First of all, it should be noted that bartolinite is infectious in nature, that is, it develops under the influence of a pathogenic microbe. Often, such microorganisms are transported to the Bartholin gland by the excretory duct, which opens on the inner side of the labia minora. With deep penetration, parasites begin to multiply intensively, thus stimulating the inflammatory process, and in some situations, suppuration of the gland with the further formation of an abscess.

There is a fair question: why the bartholinitis disease worsens, what are the causes? It is important to understand that the main "predecessors" of this disease are already existing infectious pathologies in the body, which are transmitted predominantly through sexual intercourse. So, the inflammatory process progresses against a background of gonorrhea caused by gonococcus, trichomoniasis triggered by trichomonads, and also chlamydia, aroused by chlamydia. In addition, we should not miss the "sterility" factor, so to speak. Due to non-observance of the rules of intimate hygiene, external bacteria living on the skin can also penetrate the gland and provoke bartholinitis, the treatment of which will bring little joy to the diseased organism. Especially dangerous are microorganisms such as E. coli, streptococci, staphylococcus and others. Also, this disease often progresses against the background of a thrush.

First of all, you need to know the symptoms that accompany bartholinitis. Treatment for accurate diagnosis should be immediate. So, the main signs of this anomaly are: the appearance of a sensible compaction at the entrance to the vagina, as well as a painful touch in the area of inflammation and a significant increase in temperature.

If such alarms are detected, it is necessary to consult a doctor for detailed advice and examination. In most clinical pictures, the examination and feeling of the inflamed Bartholin gland is performed by a gynecologist. Also, a clinical study of the secretion of the pathological gland to determine the nature of pathogenic bacteria and the study of smears from the vagina for the presence of microbes.

What should I do if I have been diagnosed with Bartholinitis? How to treat this disease? Of course, only a specialist should deal with this issue. In principle, productive treatment has a principal scheme, which includes enhanced antibiotic therapy and anesthesia. When forming abscesses (abscesses), surgical intervention is recommended. In the first case, we mean the use of antibiotics and local treatment with disinfectant solutions of inflammatory foci, and all medicines are selected by a specialist, based on the results of the analyzes.

The chronic form of the disease has its own peculiarities and nuances in the treatment. However, it is important to remember that with the diagnosis of bartholinitis, folk medicine is not recommended to avoid an abscess of the Bartholin gland, and alternative medicine is only a secondary therapy, so it must be closely combined with drug treatment. With timely treatment, a speedy recovery is possible.
