Astra novobilbijskaya: planting and care

Asters are the most common and favorite garden flowers. The main thing that attracts gardeners in them is a lush, bright and long flowering. Especially good in this respect are perennial plants, in particular the Astra Novobelgian. However, the annual sowing of seeds and the expectation, how many of them will give sprouts, is somewhat tedious and not to everyone's liking. Whether the case is a proven bush, capable of pleasing the eye for many years.

Description of the flower

Astra Novel Belgian is a late flowering plant. Depending on the variety, she begins to decorate the garden in July and finishes already in October. Some species retain flowers until the first frosts. The bushes have smooth, glossy leaves and stems, inflorescences of a very wide color range with an obligatory yellow center. Again, depending on what grade you bought: the flowers can be small, and large enough, up to five centimeters in diameter. Outwardly they look like fluffy daisies. Astra Novobelgian is quite low, one and a half meters is its limit. But it blooms very much, so that the foliage is hidden behind the flowers. And this process does not stop within 35-45 days.

Plants of this family are relatively unpretentious. Do not get knocked out of the general series and aster novobilbijskaya: planting and care is not troublesome, no complex horticultural skills on its plantations will not be required. The only thing to look for when choosing a variety is the flowering time. The latest in the middle lap bloom just do not have time.

Where and when to plant?

When you plan to take a place on the site for these flowers, look for solar areas, where there is a lot of light, which is very fond of the Astra Novel Belgian. Landing in the shade, and even on too wet ground, will significantly slow down the flowering, make it more scarce. In addition, the shoots of the bush will begin to stretch, wilt, or even break.

The soil must be neutral, the asters agree and on a weakly acidic, but not alkaline one. Seeds can be used both seedlings and seedlings. The main thing is to use them as quickly as possible: in the opened bag they quickly lose their germination. On seedlings they are sown on the day of purchase, in the open ground - just before winter. If you sow the astra early, when the light day is still short, you will have to organize the lighting up. The Astra Novel Belgian, grown from seeds, blossoms a year or two after finding a permanent place of residence.

It is purely aesthetically desirable to frame the planting of asters with low ornamental plants: the bases of the "newbelieves" are naked and not very beautiful, they need their camouflage.

Astra New Belgian: care

Nothing supernatural is needed. In the presence of periodic rains, the Astra Nova Belgian even in regular watering does not need, especially if the ground at the roots is covered up. In a drought watered, but carefully: the overflow for flowers is harmful and quickly destroys them. Fertilizers are applied complex mineral, during the appearance of buds and in the middle of flowering. If the shoots are stretched too much, they will have to tie them up.

Astra Novobelgian is very large, so every two or three years, in the early spring, the bushes should be divided, rejuvenating the planting and thus maintaining the ability to blossom. And every six years the flower bed moves to another place or the soil is enriched under it.

But the pre-winter processing is not required: the aster of the New Belgian has a high winter hardiness, does not require shelter and does not freeze in the cold. The only reason to further insulate the soil - if you for some reason shared bushes in the fall and they have not yet fully adapted. The sawdust or billet is enough to help the asters live to spring.

Caution: powdery mildew!

With respect to the pests of the astra, the New Belgian, planting and caring for which is so problem-free, can make you worried. She is very vulnerable to powdery mildew, and for lesions it will have to look more often. And if the summer is also rainy, then the danger increases several times. In order not to allow the death of their flowers, it is possible to irrigate them with the preparations in the spring, forming a protective film that does not allow infection to penetrate. And at the first sign of the disease, you need to sprinkle flowers in the evenings with sulfur fungicides.

To your flower garden looked brighter, more harmonious and richer, you can complement the asters with flowers that also bloom in autumn: rudbeckie, heliopsis, echinacea, gelenium. Good on one flowerbed with asters will be high cereals.
