Some canyons in the US are quite popular in the world. However, there are places that few know. One of them is Antelope Canyon. The area is considered unique in nature and attracts tourists from all over the world. Despite comparative suspense, this canyon of the USA is easily accessible during a trip to Las Vegas or to the Great Colorado gorge. The latter is known as a place of pilgrimage.

Antelope Canyon is considered to be an amazing area in its beauty. It is located in the north of Arizona near the city of Page, near the border with Utah. The area is located one hundred and fifty miles from the Grand Canyon of Colorado, which, as a rule, takes several days to visit. During the tour, you can allocate time and visit the gorge, which is so close.

Antelope Canyon is not considered a national park. In this regard, apparently, it is not as well known as other places. This area is located on the land of the tribe of the Navajo, its masters are the Indians. To get into the canyon of Antelope, you have to pay a duty and hire a guide. There are two gorges - Upper and Lower. They say that they are quite similar, however, according to some tourists, the first is somewhat more beautiful. In addition, the Upper Canyon is considered more accessible: it is possible, after leaving the car, to pass along its bottom from the beginning to the end along a relatively smooth sandy road. In the Lower Gorge you can get to descend the stairs, this greatly complicates access. Canyons are located close enough to each other. If there are several hours left, then you can have time to visit both.

The upper canyon lies between the coal power station and Page. The station is very difficult to miss, as it can be seen for several dozen miles. The upper canyon will lie on the highway on the right, and the Lower, respectively, on the left, if you go from Page to the east. The road has a table, but they can easily be missed, because they do not look like standard pointers, but represent plaques with handwritten inscriptions. If, for some reason, you managed to drive through a power plant, you should go back. Near the road, which leads from the ninety-eighth highway to the Upper Canyon of Antelope, stands a small structure with a notice board. This is another guide for tourists.

The Antelope Canyon is considered a truly amazing natural creation. Here tourists can see sandy cliffs with huge cracks. For several centuries, the wind and water have milled giant grooves in the sandstone. Once in a few years the parched canyon is flooded with water. This occurs during the rainy season. Rainwater formed elegant lines of rocks inside the gorge. The name received its canyon for its reddish-red walls, which look like the skin of an antelope.

It is believed that the best time to visit is spring and autumn. During these periods, the rays of the sun fall to the very bottom, and the gorge looks as if light is inside. In winter, the lighting is rather weak, in this regard, inside the canyon rather gloomy.
