How do the epaulets of the MES look and how should they be sewn?

Each type of armed forces in modern countries has its own form with the corresponding signs of difference. This makes it possible to determine how an employee belongs to the type of Armed Forces, department or service, as well as a personal title, position. Epaulettes are used as a basis for shoulder pads. EMERCOM of Russia, being a militarized structure, also has its own form and insignia.

What is the form of the EMERCOM employees?

For employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations protective clothing is provided, which includes special footwear and equipment. Until 2006, this unified form had several options and was issued to the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Measures for experimental socks. In 2006, the Department of Logistics and Armaments, together with the manufacturer, subjected a special set of workers of this department to modernization. In the production of overalls, membrane materials have been used, due to which the form is not blown, does not get wet, does not interfere with air circulation and keeps heat for a long time. The introduction of new models of overalls occurred gradually, as the old stocks were used up. The modern form of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was presented at the exhibition "Integrated Security" and represents 30 types of clothes suitable for different situations.

Kinds of shapes

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are equipped with special clothing, which can be:

  • The front door. This form is intended for combat and extra-wear wearing. It can be winter and summer.
  • Casual. Approved Rules for wearing uniforms and clothes No. 364 dated July 3, 2008 allow this form to be used, as well as the dress code, in the line and out of order.

What else is indicated in the Rules for wearing uniforms and clothes?

According to the order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation of 2008 No. 364, depending on the ranks for employees, signs of distinction (plates and stars) are established, for which the epaulets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are the basis. The title of internal service in the Russian Federation is identical to that of police officers. In the rules there is a detailed description of each form element. In addition, the document specifies how far apart the insignia should be and how they are sewn on the shoulder straps of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

What are shoulder straps?

Pogon is a product of a rectangular shape with signs on it. These signs are:

  • Baldness;
  • Lumens;
  • stars;
  • Chevrons.

Signs of distinction can be located on the collar (buttonholes), on the sleeves (armpits).

An inexperienced person can easily confuse shoulder straps with epaulettes. Their difference from each other is that the shoulder strap is a product of a rectangular shape and sewn one end to the shoulder seam, and the second is fastened with a button to the collar. Epaulette is a circle with the presence of fringe. Its attachment to the mold is carried out by means of a special valve and a counter-propeller.

Where are they used?

Purses in many states are indicators of the title, position, official belonging of the owner to law enforcement bodies, militarized formations, departments and organizations. Today, many state structures, except the Armed Forces, use epaulettes: the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor's office, tax and environmental services. Remember the arrangement of the decals is not difficult. The ability to "read" epaulettes will allow you to properly refer to a serviceman.

How are epaulettes sewn on?

The form should always be impeccable and meet all the requirements of the statute. Particular attention during the bringing of uniforms in the proper form should be given to sewing epaulettes. Despite the fact that the Ministry of Emergency Situations is considered a non-army structure, in this department, as well as in the army, the epaulets of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are of great importance. How to sew them to the tunic? With this issue often faced with the need to equip the outer clothing with insignia.

The sewing process is simple. This work will require the necessary materials and knowledge. The availability of the necessary tools and phased implementation guarantees an irreproachable result.

What tools will be needed?

  • Ruler.
  • Needles with thimble. The presence of a thimble will protect against finger injuries with a needle.
  • A thread. It should be strong and match the color of the beaded edge.
  • Pliers or tweezers. These devices are useful when pulling a needle with a colored thread from the shoulder.

Completing of the work

The sewing procedure consists of several stages:

  • Preparation of epaulet. The work consists in fixing the insignia (asterisks, skeletons) on a non-sewn chase. When it is sewn up, this procedure becomes more complicated.
  • The location of the epaulet on the form. It should be placed in such a way that it rests against its side, which is remote from the button, in the seam connecting the shoulder with the sleeve in the tunic. On top of the edge of the shoulder strap to 10 mm should be located overlapping the seam, passing along the shoulder. Thus, it is very important to perform a forward displacement of 10 mm.
  • Fastening the shoulder strap to the tunic. This procedure can be performed using a thread of a different color (at the end of the work it is not difficult to remove it). The shoulder strap is fastened in three places: in the corners, at the point of its contact with the sleeve seam and in the center. You can also use pins for temporary fastening. This will prevent possible shifting of the thread on the tunic.
  • Sewing the shoulder strap. The work is carried out along its perimeter with the help of stitches. This stage of work should be carried out very carefully, so that the barely visible points from piercing with a needle and thread can be seen on top of the shoulder. The thread itself must pass from the wrong side. In this case, it will not be visible, even if it will be of a different color than the shoulder strap itself. Each stitch should have an optimal length, which is 10 mm. To facilitate the process, it is recommended to place the epaulettes on the tunic so that their lower parts correspond to the seams with which the sleeves are sewn. This will make it possible to insert the needle into the existing suture holes. Sewing should be done along the line connecting the edge and its main part.

Quickly cope with this work is possible if a tunic is prepared in advance. During the process, it is recommended to use a thimble, even if it works well without it. Those who have extensive experience in this case, note that through the shoulder straps, the sewing needle passes with difficulty. You can correct this situation by using pliers or tweezers. These tools can, like a thimble push the needle, or by grasping one of its edges, pull it through the shoulder strap. According to this technology, epaulettes of various structures are sewn up: police, FSIN, Air Force and MES. Take off the epaulettes only with the summer form. The winter version does not provide for this, as epaulettes are sewn on the tunic, which are not removable.

How to sew epaulettes to a uniform shirt?

Before you put on a shirt in the summer, you need to prepare it. Ready-to-wear form is considered if it is sewn to the corresponding epaulettes epaulettes. Cope with this procedure is not difficult. Work on sewing epaulettes should be done carefully and consistently. The process is as follows:

  • Formal summer shirts are equipped with loops and loops, designed for fastening straps and buttons. There are loops and loops on the shoulders. With the help of loops fasten buttons, and with the help of slippers - removable shoulder straps. Each button is supplied with one button. Using it, as well as one ordinary button, you can create a removable design that allows you to quickly remove from the shirt insignia when necessary.
  • Secure the button from the kit above the shoulder strap. The ordinary button, purchased outside the kit, is located underneath it. Both buttons are sewn to the shoulder strap.
  • With a dense strip of fabric, located under the shoulder strap, fasten it to the shirt. This is done by passing this strip into special loops.

The principle of operation of this removable structure is carried out with the help of a large buttoned button, which is included in the kit, and the usual one, purchased in the store. These buttons, fastened and unfastened, allow you to quickly fasten the shoulder strap, and if necessary also quickly remove it. At the same time, there may be some difficulties with the removal. The reason is too narrow a loop for the bottom button. This deficiency is rectified by expanding this loop. As a result, the button will enter the loop freely. The work is considered to be well executed, if there is no jamming during removal, and also if the detachable shoulder strap is not loose.

Each employee EMERCOM of Russia is equipped with two sets of uniforms, which are used depending on the pores of the year. One of the requirements of the Wear Regulations from 2006 is the mandatory availability of signs of distinction in wearable form. Therefore, every employee, such as the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Armed Forces, the Emergencies Ministry and other paramilitary forces should be able to sew the shoulder straps to their uniform.
