Ford Mondeo: owner feedback, description, features, advantages and disadvantages

The history of the model Mondeo, developed by the famous Ford company, began back in 1993. Every year the car was improved:

The advantages of Ford Mondeo for the Russian buyer are obvious. A solid and respectable car is distinguished by its responsive handling and good dynamic characteristics, spacious and comfortable, neatly assembled, reliable and economical. And at the same time it is much cheaper than competitors. From a wide range of body modifications, our car enthusiasts prefer a sedan. Approximately a tenth of potential customers purchased a hatchback or station wagon. The line of motors was also large enough.

Third Generation Mondeo

In late 2006, the world was presented with a new model Mondeo III generation. In mass production it was launched in the spring of 2007. • Transmission. The machine on the Mondeo is reliable. In the mechanical "five-step" epiploon drive is short-lived. The clutch serves an average of 120 thousand km. Engines "Mondeo": features and weaknesses

Motors 2 and 2.3 liters suffer even more "appetite". The most likely place of leakage in the 2.3-liter "four" is a plastic filter housing with a replaceable cartridge - over time it warps. The EcoBoost series, which appeared in the range after the restyling of 2010, are very sensitive to the quality of fuel and oil. From the surrogate on the valves quickly formed a deposit, and after a long parking can jam the turbine. Low-octane gasoline in most cases leads to detonation, despite the presence of an octane-corrector in the motor, which leads to the destruction of the partitions between the piston rings.

But turbodiesels on the "Ford Mondeo" (the owner's opinion of this modification says this) are practically problem-free. In the risk group, an expensive particulate filter, which is clogged by combustion products in traffic jams, glow plugs and injectors. The mechanical 5-speed box leaks oil seals, and eventually spreads the linkage of the lever. The machine is reliable and has a phenomenal survivability. What can not you say about the Power Shift box with a double clutch. In the fully independent Mondeo suspension, only the stub bearings can be called weak.
