One of the outstanding naval commanders of the USSR is Rear-Admiral Alexandrov Alexander Petrovich. He went through a difficult life and was able to rise from an unknown person to one of the most famous admirals of the Soviet fleet. He made a great contribution to the struggle against the fascists in the Black and Baltic Seas. Alexandrov planned and directed many important operations, thanks to which the enemy was repeatedly defeated. He did not enjoy the love of the command, but even they respected him for his talents and skills.

Beginning of service in the Red Army

The future rear-admiral Alexander Petrovich Aleksandrov , last name at birth - Bar, was born in 1900 in the seaside city of Odessa. He grew up in the family of a poor merchant. In his youth he changed his name to Aleksandrov, and in the same year he joined the Communist Party and the Red Army.

A year later, in the process of service, was transferred to the navy. Alexandrov took an active part in the Civil War, fighting on the side of the Reds. After his graduation, he took up the post of district commandant in Odessa, as part-time commander of the naval military formation, which was based in the city.

Aleksandrov AP for some time was commander in the army of Kotovsky, led the cavalry regiment. From local authorities, he was empowered in the field of control of water transport in the Black Sea water area, near the coastal waters of Odessa. The future Rear Admiral made a great contribution to the victory of the Bolsheviks during the Civil War.

In the Navy

In the 1920s, he successfully studied for five years at the Military Maritime Academy. Having successfully graduated from it, since the 1930s she served in the Baltic Fleet as a senior assistant to the captain of the battleship. A short time was the chief of staff of the brigade of battleships. After I took some respite and passed a scientific internship at the Maritime Academy, in parallel engaged in teaching.

But such work did not particularly enthrall Alexandrov, and soon he returned to the fleet. After completing retraining courses for senior command staff at the Military Academy, in 1931 he became commander of the legendary cruiser Aurora.

Teaching and business trip to Spain

Being in this post, Alexandrov AP decides to leave for science and engage in teaching activities. He tried to achieve as much as possible and not only diligently trained cadets, but also in his spare time engaged in self-education. As a result, from a regular teacher, literally for a couple of years, he was able to grow up first to the head of the department, a year later he became chief of staff of the Naval Academy, and in the next - acting as its chief.

In the middle of 1937 he was seconded to Spain. Returning at the end of the year home, was convicted of high treason and eventually repressed in 1938. Two years later he was acquitted and reinstated in the ranks of the Soviet Navy.

Participation in the Second World War

In the 1940s Aleksandrov AP was the commander of the Novorossiysk base of the Black Sea Fleet. During the Second World War he took part in organizing the defense of the Crimea and commanded the Azov Flotilla. During one of the military operations, he violated military discipline, for which he was arrested and sent to the management of the USSR Navy. Then followed the exclusion from the army structures, and then, just six months later, another rehabilitation and recovery in the fleet.

After the rehabilitation, the Leningrad Naval Base was transferred to him under command. They did a lot to improve its defense. The new commander did everything to ensure that his subordinates were distinguished by excellent training. He took part in the planning and landing of the landing in Ust-Tosno and the crossing of the Neva. Aleksandrov led the Nevsky Brigade of Forces, for whose courage and heroism, as well as for personal participation in operations, was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

Since 1944, the fleet and naval aviation under his command repulsed the attacks of the German fleet, covered the movement of the columns along the road of life. For the successful completion of the tasks assigned, Rear Admiral Aleksandrov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War.

After the war was commander of the Baltic Fleet. He was awarded many orders and medals, for example, the Order of Nakhimov and the Red Banner. Rear Admiral Alexandrov Aleksandr Petrovich worked for several months in Finland, from where hundreds of thousands of tons of valuable cargo was transported to the USSR, several warships were transferred. He died in January 1946 near Tallinn.
