Yuri Khovansky: life and work

Who is Yuri Khovansky? A blogger, a musician, a stand-comic, a fierce liberal who once faced a dispute with the National Socialist Maxim Marcinkiewicz, is only a small part of the description of the character's activities and creativity. Russian-speaking users of the YouTube service are still blasting his sharp blogs and sketches, and more recently his Russian Stand-up was considered almost the only worthy show on YouTube among young people who consider themselves the most intellectually developed part of the population of the country.

Biography of Yuri Khovansky

Those who rarely visit the YouTube resource, but want to keep abreast of current Internet trends, it's worth to learn who Yuri Khovansky really is. The biography of the character, unfortunately, is not covered by such well-known resources as "Wikipedia", so you have to turn to his profile in the social network "Vkontakte". The account says that Yuri "lives in Petersburg" and was born on January 19, 1990. A turning point in the life of Yuri Khovansky came in September 2011, until this moment he did not upload video on the Internet and lead the ordinary life of a student at an economic university. Since that day, Yuri began spreading commercials, where he played songs of his own composition with a guitar in a sincere and somewhat hooligan manner, calling the new show "That guy with a guitar." Later, Yuri came to mind a fresh idea for the channel on Youtube - the first Russian "stand-up".

The development of the channel Russian Stand-up

The first season of the Internet show, which was presented to the audience by Yuri Khovansky, was a resounding success. Against the backdrop of a brick wall, a chubby lad shared his thoughts on a wide variety of everyday and social topics, often transcending the boundaries of conventional values and taboos. He was convincing, emotional and quite eloquent, so the youth responded very positively to the first season of the Russian Stand-up. Despite the fact that before that no one knew this name - Yuri Khovansky, "standup" to anybody else hitherto unknown guy became so in demand that Yuri not only decided to shoot the second season, but began to perform live. At the peak of success, Khovansky realized that it was time for a real "bomb", and decided to shoot the third season of the RSU, but at a higher level, improving the quality of the picture, sound and production in general.

The third season of Russian Stand-up

Of course, such high-quality shooting is expensive. Yuri Khovansky resorted to the idea of crowdfunding - fans of his work and just sympathizers, as well as colleagues in the shop were able to collect in time the amount of more than 400 000 rubles for the shooting of the new season of the show. Everyone expected that his investments would be justified, that the stand of Yuri Khovansky would reach a new level, but this time Yuri was waiting for a deafening failure. The third season consisted of six parts of twenty minutes each: Religion, Politics, Personal Life, Health, Income and Age. However, the first part already cast spectators into a shock state - the sound quality was worse than in previous seasons, the jokes turned out to be flat and poorly beaten, Yuri tried to appear before the viewer in different images, but the level of the acting left much to be desired. Season did not draw even short cartoons drawn specially for RSU - in critical reviews, among other things, it is noted that cartoons do not carry in themselves neither humor, nor satire, nor any meaningful meaning. Yuri Khovansky himself was very annoyed with the reaction of the audience, but brought the season to the end and even tried to joke about the theme of his failure. After some time, Yuri released and the fourth season of the RSU, but the former popularity was not so easy to return - it was due to a lack of confidence of the audience, as well as an increasing level of competition in the genre of the Russian "standup".

Where to find Yuri Khovansky's video and how to subscribe to the updates?
