What is "Yeralash"? History of the children's humorous newsreel

In the distant 1974 in the Central Committee of the CPSU came a letter from the director Alla Surikova. In it was the proposal to create a children's humorous newsreel. At that time, there was a "Wick" for the adult audience. This newsreel was popular, so it was suggested to create a "Wick" for children. From that moment the "Yeralash" we loved was born.

In this article we will consider why the newsreel has such a name, and note some points related to it.

What is a Eurasian?

Surely, many thought about this issue. And only a few looked in the dictionary. But there is a solution to the meaning of the word. In the dictionary SI Ozhegov explained that such a Eurasian. In the first sense it is a mess and confusion, and in the second - an old card game.

Most likely, the title is associated with the first meaning, because the stories in the newsreel go out randomly. They have nothing to do with each other.

It is worth noting that there is a story of Maxim Gorkov's "Yeralash". In it, this word means all sorts of things, mixture, confusion and mess. That's what a Eurasian means as an ordinary word.

Where did this name come from for the newsreel?

There are several versions. When they started working on this project, the name "Fatelek" originally proposed for him was rejected. It was necessary to look for something else. There is a legend that says that a contest for the best title was announced. One Soviet schoolgirl sent a letter (which did not survive), where she proposed to name the project "Yeralash".

The creators of this project refute such legends. They assure that the name was invented by the daughter of the founder of the newsreel, playwright Alexander Khmelik. He also informed about this in the TV show "Tonight", where he told what "Yeralash" is. Boris Grachevsky, the artistic director of this project, was also in the program and confirmed that the name of the newsreel is the offer of Khmelik's daughter.

History of "Yeralash"

In 1974, a series of journals appeared. The first release consisted of three stories, among which was the story on the scenario of Agniya Barto's "Shameful Spot".

Initially, the miniatures of "Yeralash" were shown first in cinemas and only after they were broadcast on television. But over time the project completely moved to the TV screens. First it was broadcast on RTR, then on ORT.

In 1984 the film "What is" Yeralash "was released. Another 10 years later, a concert was dedicated to him. Every anniversary of the project is held with festive performances, in which everyone involved with this newsreel participates.

"Yeralash" is not just a humorous issue. This is a newsreel on which several generations have grown up. It is not only entertaining, but also instructive in nature. He shows the children where the good is and where the evil is. That's what "Yeralash" is!

Actors-children, who played in it, eventually became famous. For example, ex-member of the Tatu music group Julia Volkova, actor Alexander Golovin, singer Natasha Ionova (Glukoza), singers Sergei Lazarev and Vladislav Topalov and many others.

"Eralash" is removed to this day. Therefore, young talents can express themselves and star in new releases, in which everything is also a lot of humor and morality.
