Why the computer is running slowly

What should I do if the computer started to work slowly? To begin with, it is necessary to find out the reason why it began to "brake", and only then try to eliminate it. Most importantly, do not forget what kind of configuration your computer is. If he is from the last century, then for him the slow work is a normal regime.

If the computer is slow, but it's quite productive, and before that it was not observed, then something happened, and you need to find out exactly what. First, install Everest on your computer (the program was first called AIDA, then Everest, and now the new versions are again released under the AIDA logo). This utility displays full information about your computer. What details are installed, what programs, what drivers and stuff. But we need other information.

Determination of the temperature of devices.

Open the program. Click on the item "Computer", and then click on "Sensors". You will open a window for sensors of various devices. Find there an indicator of the temperature of the processor, video card and hard drive. Also it is desirable to pay attention to the number of revolutions of the cooler, which is installed on the processor.

CPU temperature.

If the computer is running slowly and the temperature is very high, then the reason is just this. If you do not currently use anything that spends much system resources, then the CPU should not be warmer than 30-40 degrees Celsius. If the game is running or some film of excellent Full HD quality, then the temperature will be 40-50 degrees. Strongly loads and heats the processor to convert video, photo and audio files. In such continuous moments, the temperature will be about 50-60 degrees.

But if you have a temperature of more than 50 degrees in simple mode, then this is bad. Also pay attention to the number of turns of the cooler, maybe it does not spin much. In this case, it is necessary to open the system unit, remove and blow the cooler, and also the radiator installed on the processor. Then gently remove the remains of the old thermal paste from the processor surface, then apply a new one. Then we put the radiator and the cooler back. The temperature should drop significantly.

Overheating of the hard disk.

If the computer is still running slowly, we pay attention to the temperature of the hard drive. If it is also increased on the hard drive, then this is also bad, because if it is hot, then it runs slower, and as a result, the operating system's performance is deteriorating. Perhaps the cooler installed on the hard, is spinning or too weak and does not cope with its task. Buy a new one or grease the old one. You can do the original thing - install another cooler near the hard drive (side or anywhere else, it depends on the structure of the system unit).

Temperature of the video card.

We also do the above with the video card.

Search for a problem at the program level.

If the computer is still running slowly, then there is another reason. Open Everest or the task manager (you need to press the keyboard combination ctrl + alt + delete). There you can see the load of RAM and the processor. If the indicators are maximum, then the reason is this.

We look in the task manager which programs are running. Perhaps you have a lot of things in the system that you do not know about or viruses. Find which process consumes a lot of CPU or RAM and complete it.

Then press "Windows" + R. The "Windows" key is located between Alt and Ctrl. In the window that appears, type msconfig and run it. In the application that opens, we find the "Startup" tab and turn off unnecessary programs.

Evaluation of the result.

After you have successfully disabled all unnecessary, restart the computer. Now everything should work much faster. But if the computer is running slowly again, then try to reinstall your Windows, because it has the property of "hang" and "fly". That is why periodically the operating systems have to reinstall.
