Why does the discharge occur after menstruation?

As a rule, discharge from the vagina in women should not cause concern (this is the result of the work of the genitals), if they are transparent and do not have an odor. Allocations are needed for the female body to lubricate the vaginal walls and to protect against infection. As a rule, the first discharge appears one year before the first months.

However, there are certain violations in the structure of the secretions, which are by no means the norm. When the discharge after the monthly bleeding, have a smell, give away yellow or gray, these are signs of some irregularities in the work of the genital organs. Often there is still a feeling, as if in the genital area constantly something burns and bakes! Then a visit to the doctor is urgent and strictly necessary!

There are some signs that distinguish normal allocation from problematic ones. You have to worry if you:

  1. Allocations of an unusual shade are more abundant than natural ones. Such discharges are called whites.
  2. Discharges after menstruation with odor occur during any period of the menstrual cycle, and also cause itching and burning sensation. Often there is still pain in the uterus and ovaries.
  3. Spotting, as well as secretions of dark, brown, pinkish color before and after menstruation. Bleeding may occur during or shortly after ovulation.
  4. Allocations during menstruation, which are more abundant or, conversely, are allocated in a smaller amount in comparison with the usual monthly.

Discharges after menstruation and shortly before them, which are accompanied by discomfort, can be a sign of pathologies in the genital area (diseases, inflammation, tumors). Therefore, they can not be ignored, but you should immediately seek medical help!

Remember that normal discharges are uninvited, their number increases only two weeks before the onset of menstruation.

The nature of the secretions largely determines the essence of the disease:

  • Bloody discharge before menstruation occurs with erosion of the cervix;
  • White, similar to cottage cheese or thick yogurt, which are accompanied by a sharp odor - usually a sign of the development of candidiasis (thrush);
  • The allocation of a greenish or yellowish hue (foaming or bubbling) is a sign of sexually transmitted diseases and infections that are transmitted during sexual intercourse;
  • Spotting after a monthly period of up to several weeks - abnormalities in the functioning of the uterus: endometritis, polyp or hyperplasia;
  • Discharge after menstruation, which are accompanied by an acidic odor, are also a sign of thrush. Although they can not be in candidiasis. A full gynecological examination is necessary to correctly diagnose.
  • Sometimes there are discharges after sexual intercourse. If they are still with blood, this may be the cause of cervical disease (erosion) or of the uterus itself (tumors of varying severity or neoplasms).

As a rule, in order to make an accurate diagnosis, it is necessary not only to pass tests and be examined by a gynecologist. It is also necessary to make ultrasound. More precisely, not only do, but also correctly "read" it. To do this, you should contact a specialist.

From the foregoing it follows that the discharge after the monthly, as a rule, indicate the development of any diseases of the reproductive system. Remember that several diseases can manifest themselves with the same nature of secretions. Therefore, do not rely on the case, engage in self-medication and put yourself a diagnosis! If you are not a specialized doctor, this can lead to undesirable consequences! Yes, and the gynecologist, too, is not treated alone, but seeks help from colleagues! What can we say about us, "mere mortals"!
