Why collect prefabricated motorcycle models

Booth modeling is one of the most common types of hobbies. It is combined with another hobby - collecting. As a rule, everyone who started making small copies of different types of equipment does not stop in two or three copies, but collects them further. There is always a set that is not in the collection, and at the same time very interesting.

More recently, literally a dozen years ago, the leading manufacturers of sets for gluing together models drew attention to the growing interest of consumers in a new kind of product. Prefabricated motorcycle models have become very popular, while the variety of designs and scales offered is very large. Those who are interested in the historical aspect of the development of design ideas pay attention to two-wheeled vehicles, which today can be seen only in museums, and even then not always. Fans of modern bikes often purchase models of motorcycles produced in recent years. Of no small importance is the fact that the mark in the fate of the collector or his family left this or that brand. It is possible that on such a Java or such a CheZete went his father or grandfather.

Motorcycles were widely used during the Second World War. Their production has grown to unprecedented scale until then. Harleys, Tsundapps, BMW and other models of motorcycles traveled along the roads of the belligerent countries. They were used for cargo transportation, intelligence, courier delivery and in many other cases, when "iron horses" replaced cavalry. These tales did not look as spectacular as their civilian counterparts, but in this "trick" many collectors see the space for giving copies of their collections historical authenticity. The smallest details and design elements can say that the vehicle was repaired in the field, fell under bombardment, raced along dusty roads, puddles and mud.

Another thing is when the collection models of motorcycles as a prototype have racing and sports designs. Here, another important thing is important: numerous advertising logos, bright coloring, characteristic for rally or motorcycle racing participants, large and clear numbers. Historical authenticity is also a prerequisite for a true collector. He usually knows in which year this motorcycle participated in the race, who "piloted" it, what place it took and with what indicators of time and average speed.

Still happens, that models of the motorcycles going on roads in a peace time gather and anything special not glorified. Just to see on the shelf the familiar from childhood silhouette is very nice. It does not require either a ceremonial "lick" or traces of heavy exploitation. However, some fatigue and some rubbing can be very helpful. These machines-workers worked a lot, and as if the owners did not follow them, but got them yet be healthy. Actually, this is how motorcycle models differ from simple toys, even if very accurately made.

The scale adopted for the models of two-wheeled "iron horses" is traditionally taken to be larger than for cars or planes, usually one to six or to twelve. The exception is those models of motorcycles that are designed to participate in panoramas and are adjacent to mock-ups of other techniques. In these cases, the scale can be relatively small, for example, 1:72.
