Bees Attacked Ufa International Airport

Specialists of the Ufa International Airport solve the labor problem and were forced to select the means of mass and individual protection from the attack of wild bees after the incident that occurred recently.

On June 8, a swarm of wild bees suddenly clung to one of the telescopic ramps of the sleeves, along which the passengers were going to land. The landing had to be postponed, because only specialists with a rover and mask could drive the swarm away. One of the employees of the terminal, who is fond of beekeeping, left the collected bees to himself, despite the fact that the total weight of the bee family was about one and a half kilograms.

Despite the fact that such a case occurred for the first time, the staff behaved quite calmly. At the time of the "attack" the ladder was let, and therefore no passenger was injured. But the airport employees decided on the need to prepare additional funds in case the state of emergency is repeated again.

Beekeepers and producers of beekeeping products explain the appearance of wild bees at the terminal by the fact that the swarming period has come, when insects leave the hives with whole families. There are a lot of apiaries in the areas near the airport, so the repetition of the "bee incident" is not ruled out.

Help: the bite of a wild bee is dangerous primarily because of the possibility of a severe allergic reaction. If you are in the place of stay of bees, do not make sharp movements, do not try to wave your hands, but calmly leave this place. If the bite could not be avoided, then first it is necessary to remove the sting (squeezing out the sting is strictly prohibited - this will only speed up the spread of the bee's poison). After this, disinfect the wound and take the pill from allergy. The place of bite is recommended to apply cold (a hot-water bottle with cold water or a towel soaked in water). Even if you do not notice any worsening of your health, you should consult your doctor. Be healthy!
