What is the need for a blood test for oncology?
Any person subconsciously fears cancer, preferring to talk and think about it less. Of course, not everyone can dare to carry out a diagnosis for the presence of cancer cells, wanting simply not to know about the possibility of their existence in the body. Nevertheless, the analysis of blood in oncology is an action necessary. Especially in the event that previous examinations have already confirmed the possibility of such neoplasms. Not so long ago it was almost impossible to diagnose cancer cells by blood analysis.
The most common and applied blood test for oncology is the definition of oncomarkers. These are special proteins or so-called "antigens" that are secreted by malignant cells in the event of an ailment. In addition, due to the availability of modern equipment, conducting such a study will provide some information about the existing tumor. For example, you can determine its size and even the stage of the disease. All oncomarkers are divided into several species, each of which will testify to the defeat of a particular organ. For example, in women, the presence of a high concentration of protein CA125 will indicate the presence of ovarian cancer or the endometrium of the uterus.
It is necessary to take into account the possibility of conducting diagnostics at absolutely any stage of the alleged illness. It should be noted that a qualitatively and timely analysis of blood in oncology will allow not only to identify the disease at an early stage of development, but also to get rid of it as quickly as possible. Of course, such a check is not the only one, however, thanks to it, the doctor will be able to assign the further study necessary for accurate diagnosis. In addition, a blood test with oncology will identify possible recurrences of the ailment, which, it would seem, has already receded. Even if the likelihood of recurrence of the disease is negligible, a qualitative study of biochemical material will help to reveal the lowest percentage.
