What includes the differentiated training

Differential learning is an approach to education that takes into account the individual abilities of each child or group of schoolchildren to the maximum. This is one of the most important principles affecting the effectiveness of the teacher's work. Such training is carried out by means of changing the content of the study assignments: it is necessary to relate the difficulty of the exercise with the child's abilities, and also take into account the time allotted for fulfillment.

In order to implement a differentiated approach to teaching, the teacher should remember several rules.

First, it is important to know and understand for what purpose this activity will be used. In addition, it is necessary to take into account the general readiness of children, their level of development. The teacher should foresee the difficulties that students may have when studying the topic. In the system of lessons, both individual and group lessons are used.

The technology of differentiated education does not involve episodic, but systematic work in this direction. For example, the same task is given for the entire class, while the strong students are reduced in time, while the weak ones are given auxiliary material (algorithm, diagrams, tables, etc.). In this case, an individual approach is used, as well as the teacher's knowledge of the characteristics of children. Another way of differentiated learning - at different stages of the lesson, students offer different assignments, which are different for schoolchildren with average academic performance, strong and weak.

Such work with children should be put on a scientific basis, that is, practical recommendations of psychologists should be used to implement this approach. The effectiveness of the activity depends on the professionalism and experience of the teacher, who must be able to study the personality, remembering that each child has his own characteristics that distinguish him from others.

If differentiated education is conducted with one student, it is called individual. Its advantage is that the teacher contacts directly with the student, he can immediately correct his mistakes or praise him for success. Individual approach depends on the characteristics of each individual personality: makings, abilities, temperament, behavior, self-esteem, and others.

Differentiated training includes several stages. On the first of them the teacher gets acquainted with the group. For this, it is possible to diagnose, organize joint collective activities, establish friendly contacts with children. Experience shows that at this stage teachers use a huge number of methods, including questionnaires, interviews, observation, conversations, etc. In their work, the teacher must take into account the types of temperaments. Children stand out, to whom an individual approach is needed. Usually they are schoolchildren who have problems in their studies or behavior, "difficult" teenagers, gifted students, etc.

The second stage is closely connected with the process of re-education. Here, methods such as persuasion, self-criticism, personal example, etc. are used. One of the important conditions for effective activity in this case is interaction with the team.

Differentiated education implies the development of value orientations, properties and qualities of the child's personality. At the next stage, individual work is carried out aimed at educating and acquiring knowledge in a way that takes into account its capabilities and abilities. The most popular methods used by teachers are demand, self-esteem, perspective, public opinion, etc.
