Color blindness is a characteristic of vision, which happens in a person from birth or due to some kind of nervous or eye diseases. If the disease is congenital, it is not possible to heal it. Color blindness due to diseases can be observed in one eye or immediately in both. Problems in the work of color-sensitive receptors in the main part of the retina are the cause of imperfect color perception. Special nerve cells (cones) play the role of receptors. There are cones of three types, which affect how they see color-blind. Any of these species contains a color-sensitive protein pigment, which is responsible for the perception of one primary color. In people with congenital color blindness, there is no process of producing these color-sensitive pigments (one, two or all three at once).

To reveal color imbalance, polychromatic test tables are used, in which figures or simple figures are drawn with colored circles. With that anomaly, as colorblinders see, they can not see these figures or figures. A person with normal vision can see the image immediately.

Medicamental treatment of congenital color blindness is absent and until recently there was no method to cope with the disease. There are also some methods for changing color perception with the help of special lenses. Not so long ago, glasses were developed for color-blinds with lenses of lilac color for correction of color blindness. Thanks to the points, you can distinguish between green and red colors, which improves the color vision of people who have a common form of color blindness. Tinted, red-tinted contact lenses that can be used to pass certain tests can also significantly improve color perception, but they can not be used for permanent wearing.
