Welsh talent - Danny Ward

Danny Ward is a Welsh young goalkeeper who is not the main goalkeeper of Wales, but may well be in the near future. So far, he is quite young by football standards, and especially by the standards of goalkeepers, who blossom mostly after 26 years, in contrast to field players, whose professional maturation comes earlier. Danny Ward for a long time could not get the game practice, although he had already been in leases several times.

Carier start

Born Danny Ward June 22, 1993 in Wales, in the city of Reksem, his football career, he began in the eponymous club. At the age of fourteen, he enrolled in the Rexema football academy and until 2011 played for youth teams at various levels until he was awarded a professional contract at the age of 18. Immediately after that, he was sent for a month to rent in the club "Tamworth", also speaking in the fifth English division, but there he appeared on the field only once. After that, for almost a year Ward was in the reserve of "Rexema", but in January 2012, for 125 thousand euros, he suddenly bought one of the strongest clubs in England - "Liverpool".

Going to Liverpool and renting

In "Liverpool" Danny Ward, of course, did not expect that he immediately give a place in the base or even on the bench. The 18-year-old football player, however, immediately found himself in the double of the club, where he began to perform on an ongoing basis. Soon he was called into the adult team, but remained on the bench. The next challenge took place only in 2014, but even then Ward could not make his debut for the main line-up. As a result, in March 2015, the young goalkeeper was sent to the English club "Morecambe", but stayed there only a month, appearing on the field five times. Until the end of the season, the bench and the goal of the double were what Danny Ward got in Liverpool. The goalkeeper naturally wanted a game practice, so in the summer of 2015 he was sent for half a year to rent in the Scottish "Aberdeen", where he entered the field in 29 games and showed a very reliable game. The second half of the season, Danny held at Liverpool, but was more often called in the main team, and also spent two matches at the base. In the summer of 2016, Danny Ward, a football player who began to progress much faster than before, was hired at Huddersfield, who played in the Championship, where he immediately became the main goalkeeper and has now played 12 games, conceding only ten Goals.

National team appearances

In his youth, Ward played many matches for the youth teams of Wales in different age categories. For the first time in the adult team, he was called in November 2014, but remained then on the bench, as in the next seven games. Only in March 2016, Ward went into the break of a friendly match against the Northern Ireland team to replace instead of Wayne Hennessy. In the last match before the European Championships in 2016, Ward also came on as a substitute during the break, but in the first Welsh match directly at the European Championships, Ward made his debut in the starting lineup. He missed just one goal from the Slovaks, thanks to which the Welsh could win 2: 1. All the other matches of the tournament Ward spent on the bench.
