Visa to Korea: types and necessary documents

Russian citizens need a visa to visit South Korea. Those citizens who have visited the country 4 or more times in the past two years can enter the territory of the state without a visa for a period of up to thirty days. Types of visas

A single short-term visa to South Korea allows you to stay in the country for up to three months. A two-time short-term visa with a validity period of 90 days - 30 days for each entry into Korea. Short-term multiple entry visa to Korea is valid for a year.

Short-term visa is extended in extremely rare cases, for example, if long-term treatment is required. The long-term visa for Korea has a validity period of three months and up to two years. The period of validity of the visa depends on the purpose of the trip. Long-term visa is extended. For this, it is necessary to apply to the Immigration Service of the Korean Republic.

Documents on the Korean visa

To obtain a visa to South Korea, you must submit the following documents to the visa center or embassy:

  • A foreign passport with a validity period of at least six months at the time of issuing the visa;
  • A copy of the pages of the passport with the applicant's data;
  • A copy of an invalid passport (if there is one and if it had visas to Schengen countries, visas to Japan, Canada, the United States or Australia);
  • A questionnaire filled out and signed by the applicant (the application form should be filled in English or in Korean);
  • Color photo;
  • Invitation of a travel agency, hotel or host;
  • A certificate from work with the specified post and the size of the salary, signed by the head.

It is also necessary to present the program for the entire period of stay in the country. The program should be detailed in days and confirm the responsibility for the tourist and his actions of the inviting party or travel agency.

  • For students - a certificate from the place of study;
  • For pensioners - a copy of the pensioner's certificate;

Tourism in North Korea

To date , tourists can only visit North Korea as part of organized groups. For this, a group of people require a visa to North Korea. Such a visa is issued for a tour, paid in full. Documents should be submitted one month before the date of the planned trip.

To obtain a visa to North Korea, the following documents must be submitted:

  • international passport;
  • two photos;
  • Completed questionnaire;
  • An extract from a bank account or other confirmation of the existence of a sufficient amount of finance for the entire period of stay in the country;

Citizens of Israel, the United States and South Korea are not allowed to enter North Korea . Import and export foreign currency can be in any number, but at the same time for all the funds spent on the territory of the country you will have to report when you leave. But exporting or importing the national currency is strictly prohibited. You can not import and mobile phones, pagers, PCs and stuff. Internet access in the country is also not allowed.
