The first works in the cinema

After graduating from high school Valeria entered the Internews class, where she began studying film production under the guidance of the famous documentary filmmaker Marina Razbezhkina. Having qualified as a cameraman, Germanika began working in one of the semi-underground studios, where she, according to her, worked as an operator, filming pornographic films. The girl used her directorial abilities in 2005, creating a short, only 17 minutes long film called "Sisters." Another movie "Girls", also filmed in 2005, took 45 minutes of screen time.

"Girls" included in the program of the film festival "Kinotavr", where the film was marked as the best short film. In addition, the film was shown at the 59th Cannes Film Festival. Valery Gai Germanika, whose series became the subject of discussions of a multimillion audience of Russian viewers, already showed herself as a talented director.

Director's debut

The next notable work of Valeria was the 2007 movie "Infanta's Birthday", which also took part in the "Kinotavr" competition. A picture of a group of young people who came up with their own special world. The picture was a success, it was demonstrated in the framework of the "Golden Camera" competition of the Cannes Film Festival. The film won no prizes, but was awarded the "Special mention", was awarded the White Elephant Prize and the Nika Award as the best full-length debut work. The film is built, like other paintings by Valeria Gai Germanika, on the relations of teenagers. In the center of the story again three girls who are concerned about simple problems: how to get booze, get to the disco and meet with some interesting guy.

"School"

In 2008, Valery Gai Germanicus took part in the contest "Cinema without film", which showed films in digital format. The actress was a member of the jury, she did not submit her works to the contest. The following year, Valeria participated in the music project of a group of rappers from St. Petersburg "Trash-Chapito Kach", which at that time was working on the creation of the album "Expensive!". In the same year, the first channel of Russian television opened the project "School" - a series of Valeria Guy Germanicus, telling about the life of high school students. The film, shown in January 2010, was ambiguously received by the public. He caused numerous debates in society. However, the director-director of the film Valery Gai Germanicus thanks to the "School" has become widely known.

"School" was shot at school

The series consists of 69 series, which were filmed in stages at a regular Moscow school number 945 on Orekhovoi Boulevard, Krasnogvardeyskaya metro station. The characters of the film are high school students, boys and girls aged 14-16 who live their daily school life. The main characters of the series were young graduates of theatrical studios, VGIK and VTU named after Shchepkin. Filming was conducted in the absence of scenery, without the use of stationary cameras, all the episodes were shot with a portable camera "from the shoulder." There was no musical accompaniment, the music only sounded if it was provided for in the script.

"School" is permeated with all those problems of youth, which are the background of modern life of adolescents. Young actors practically played themselves, because most recently all of them studied in the same school, lived the same concerns, dreamed of good grades.

In the series "School" came two actresses who played in the movie "Everyone dies, and I'll stay." This is Valentina Lukashchuk and Julia Alexandrova. Many other actors involved in the series "School", a year later will take part in another series Guy Germanic called "Short Course of a Happy Life." The script was written by Anna Kozlova, who more than once complained about the changes in the plot (sometimes radical) that Guy Germanicus was making directly on the set. At the same time, Anna admitted that from the unceremonious intervention of the director, the scenes only improved. It is characteristic that all actors in the series, without exception, welcomed the remarks during the filming. And it was not that the script was weak, but simply creative Germanika found new, more interesting solutions. Lera herself also played in the series, she played the role of Fortune-teller.

Hakamada and Sobchak

"Short Course of a Happy Life" fit into 16 series, although the general director of Channel One Konstantin Ernst, who acted as the producer of the project, assumed 69 series (similar to the acclaimed "School"). Nevertheless, the series turned out to be much less because of the completely different specifics of what is happening on the screen. The series "Short Course of a Happy Life" in some ways echoes with the American version of "Sex and the City", the main characters are also four, the plot in some individual episodes is similar.
