Uterus of the bee: the main specimen in the hive

Even a beginner beekeeper will always distinguish the uterus from a worker's bee. It is absolutely easy to do this. This is the main female in the hive, living much longer than ordinary bees. It is two, and sometimes three times larger in size and unlike the latter has a full-fledged reproductive system. The strength of the family depends on how fruitful it is.

In the hive, it performs a single function - produces a laying of eggs, from which then drones and workers are displayed. During one summer period alone, it can postpone them to 120 - 200 thousand. The bee queen is permanently in the hive and comes out of it only to meet the drones. An interesting fact is that it can preserve a seminal fluid for a long time, using it gradually to lay more and more new eggs.

It is especially productive in the first 2 years of its life. All the time, while she lays eggs, she is courted by a specially attached suite - working bees. Replacement of queens is usually made in the third year, but, of course, only if they reduce their productivity. Beforehand it is necessary to inspect the hive. A young female producer lays eggs in all cells in a row. The old or sick misses them. If this is noticed, the manufacturer must be replaced.

The uterus of the bee can lay only two kinds of eggs - fertilized, from which the working individuals and other uterus are obtained, and the unfertilized, from which subsequently come drones. Working bees clean it and feed it with pollen and milk. Approaching the cell, the uterus directs the abdomen into her and lays a small oblong egg. However, it always performs a preliminary inspection - how well the future housing of the larva has been cleaned up.

Sometimes it happens that the queen bee, a photograph of which can be seen below, dies. In this, the beekeeper is most often to blame. He can crush her when looking at the hive, or, holding the frame not over it, drop the uterus on the ground, where she dies after a short time. In this case, the bees select several larvae after 6-8 hours and begin to fatten them with milk. Cells in which they develop, expand and build.

The uterus of the bee, grown in this way, is called fistulous. In most cases, these producers are in no way inferior. However, if the bees choose not a one-day, but a three-four-day larva, it will result in a bad quality womb. The family can suffer greatly from this. Meanwhile, if you want from a potentially poor-quality queen beehive can be released. To do this, remove all the queen cells, which were sealed in a four-day period after the bookmark.

The moment the bees start the new producer should try not to miss. The matter is that the four-day-old queen of the bee will come out faster and immediately destroy all the one-day ones. Only in a very strong family will the workers not allow this. In this case, the swarming will take place and the worst uterus will fly away along with the swarm. The producer flies out of the hive several times, until she mates with the drones.

This does not happen only if the weather is rainy outside. With its duration of more than 20 days, the uterus begins to postpone only empty eggs. Trutnevye cells distinguish from the cells of working bees is easy: the lid is convex. A similar womb, which is also called tartar, needs to be replaced as soon as possible.
