Using a profile for gypsum board when installing walls

Often when redesigning an apartment, it becomes necessary to transfer the interior walls. More recently, only the need for such repairs could plunge a man into horror, since only a brick or foam block was used to build the walls. But the construction industry is constantly in development, so now we have the opportunity to manage cheaper and easier to use materials.

For example, you can take a drywall and a little profile for gypsum board. It is light, cheap, and the walls of this material can be built literally in a few hours of not too hard work. The walls will not only be erected within the shortest possible time, but will also be perfectly straight. That is why when carrying out the redevelopment of an apartment or a house, it is best to pay attention to drywall. The second reason for this choice is the flexibility of the material itself: using different types of profiles for gypsum board, you can create designer compositions of almost any kind. In a word, if you know how to handle tools, then you can start working.

To begin with, simply measure the room to get accurate data on the amount of material you need, buy the plasterboard, self-tapping screws, the stock of the profile for gypsum board and the tools that you do not have. Greed is not necessary: materials and consumables are better to take 10% more than required by calculations.

First of all, you need to mount a stable frame on which your whole wall will be erected. Carefully fasten the profiles on the floor and ceiling. It is to this stage of the work should be taken as responsibly as possible, since poor fastening will inevitably lead to great problems with time. First, the vertical posts, to which the cross-arms are attached, are well fixed. The step between them must exactly match the size of the sheets of material.

It often happens that instead of a normal metal profile for gypsum cardboard, ordinary wood is used. It is not advisable to save money in such a way: in conditions of high or low humidity, the tree may well change its configuration and "go", which will lead to the expected results. It is better to save on the fact that you will do all the work yourself, without causing costly hired specialists for this.

Suppose you are finished with a skeleton. Using self-tapping screws, start fixing the material. Once again we remind you that the profile for drywall, whose dimensions are chosen strictly individually, should be as securely secured as possible. Initially, only one side is attached. In the inter-wall space lay all communications, cables and other equipment, which will otherwise spoil the view. Then send a soundproofing material to the "sandwich" and, if necessary, heat insulation.

After that, you can start finishing work. Joints between sheets of material must be carefully glued with tape, and only then ground and glue the wallpaper. By the way, if you are going to glue them, you should repair the smallest defects in the surface.
