Unpasteurized beer: use and shelf life

Unpasteurized beer is called "live". It does not compare with pasteurized. This beer does not pass any stages of filtration and purification. For this reason, it has a short shelf life. Basically, such beer is sold directly after it was produced. It can be either bottled or bottled. The latter immediately after the end of fermentation is sealed in a bottle, and there it is already ripening. But "alive" happens and pasteurized, it differs in the duration of storage.

The difference between unpasteurized beer and pasteurized beer

These two drinks differ very simply. Unpasteurized did not undergo pasteurization, that is, it did not undergo thermal treatment. Thanks to this, live yeast remains in the beer. This low-alcoholic beverage ripens in sealed casks after a spill.

As such, there are no significant differences from pasteurized beverages. But some features exist:

Glass bottles are a universal container, glass does not interact with the environment both outside and inside. But there is a significant disadvantage - it is easy to heat up and let in sunlight. When buying beer in glass containers it is better to give preference to dark glass. Also, you need to pay attention to the lid - if there is damage and air passes, the unfiltered beer is most likely already spoiled.

Possible damage to health

Like any alcoholic beverage, unfiltered beer can harm the body if you consume it in large quantities. But if you drink this drink moderately, it will not bring harm, but even vice versa - the benefit. In small quantities, this beer has a beneficial effect on the digestive system and not only.
