As many people probably remember, in the good old Windows it was necessary to use a special key to capture the image, then open the graphics editor, insert the image there from the clipboard and then save it. They should be used if you do not need the entire screen, but only a certain part of it. If you change the number to 3 in the combination of keys, then this combination automatically creates a screenshot of the entire screen. For users who speak English, it has a spoken name - Grab.app. The functionality of the utility is small, but it is not necessary to create a lot of pictures. To open it, go to the "Programs", where in the "System Utilities" section is the desired application. Run it.

In fact, the main necessary menu in this program is called "Snapshot", it is the fourth in a row. There you can choose whether you want to photograph: a specific window, the whole screen or only a small part of it. For the latter there is a function "Selected". Clicking on it allows you to select the desired area. The main advantage of this method is the ability to take a screenshot with a delay.

Also to the right of each of the options are signed hotkeys that speed up the work with Grab.app. A few settings of the utility allow, for example, to disable the sound of the click of the shutter or make the cursor displayed in the picture.
