Tulips: forcing at home and in the greenhouse
Cultivating tulips
Dismantling at home or in a greenhouse for holidays on February 14 or March 8 begins a few months before these dates. The most optimal time for planting bulbs of plants, so that they blossom by the holidays, is October-November. For a festive surprise, first of all you need to choose quality tulips. Getting out at home requires a very responsible attitude.
For planting, only large and dense bulbs weighing about 30 g are selected, they are cleaned from scales and planted in specially prepared land. Experienced gardeners take in equal parts sawdust of coniferous trees and a special soil mixture "Terra Vita", which can be bought in specialized shops where bulbous plants are sold : crocuses, daffodils, tulips.
Domestic distillation should be carried out using already processed bulbs to prevent the development of rot or various bacterial infections. For good flowering, a fertilizer "Fertika Lux" is added to the prepared earth mixture at a rate of 2 tablespoons per 10 liters. Tulip bulbs are planted at a distance of about 1.5 cm from each other, slightly pushing them into the substrate, top is covered with a layer of a mixture of about 2 cm and put in a well ventilated room (a cellar, a cellar, etc.)
A very important moment for the process of forcing out tulips is the preservation of a certain temperature regime.
Dismantling at home in the future is the gradual accustoming of leaves to the light. For this, for several days, the leaves are protected from strong sunlight. Greenery shoots of plants is a signal in order to raise the temperature of air to 20 ° C. For the development of a strong plant with a long stem, periodic spraying of the leaves is very important. And the last cunning: to make flowers last longer to please you with their beauty, with flowering it is necessary to lower the temperature of the ambient air to 12 ° C. Tulip distillation in the greenhouse occurs according to a similar technology.
